  1. I've suggested AJP leading off because maybe it would give this team the spark it's been missing for 2 seasons now. It's not like him leading off would hurt someone else on the team who should be leading off, so I see no harm in this happening.
  2. I heard AJP say something on the radio that makes me think it's 2007 again. AJP said "of course guys like Thome and PK will pick it up, just look at their career stats".
  3. I'll just add this comment, but don't worry, I won't be in this thread: Lackey likely will be on a pitch count tonight, and our late rally on Monday made it so Shields and K-Rod have now had to pitch in both games of this series. Hopefully, we get to some of their other relievers tonight.
  4. I didn't see anything in the game thread that suggested someone was suspended.
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 14, 2008 -> 05:40 AM) Swisher had to be on the juice, right? How else do you explain the drop in performance. There's no power, and the few times he hit the ball hard, it made it to the warning track. He's from Oakland....who wasn't on stuff there?
  6. At least it was a relatively quick game.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:40 AM) I feel like everyone is bashing Swish, and don't get me wrong he deserves most of it, but I feel we should be a lot more ticked off at Cabrera, the guy has been awful. Way to go CQ! A rare miscue by Hunter. At least OC will be gone in a few months. With Swisher, we all just want to see better contact at the plate, as he's going to be a major part of the Sox for the rest of this decade.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:37 AM) Last I checked, we have 6 or 7 more to play. Give me a break. This team just stinks. They're outclassed by the Angels, even with all of their injuries. The Sox don't match up very well in San Fran with the huge outfield and having to play PK over Thome.
  9. Another just invaluable game for OC. Thanks for blessing us with your presence this season.
  10. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:33 AM) Thanks again for gutting our system for a marginal player KW, the changes in the offense from 2007 are completely noticeable!!! Can we call Swisher "Nick Ritchie"? I'm already calling O. Cabrera "OClayton", as he reminds me so much of Royce.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:32 AM) I really hate Dye-nosaur. Bench Thome for a few days, put Dye-nosaur at DH, put Anderson in at CF and Swish in right. It's going to be fun watching Dye play in San Fran this weekend. Giants might get 3 triples a game.
  12. That run's on you Swisher. We're going to return from this west coast trip in 4th place in the AL Central.
  13. At least Thome vs K Rod in the 9th should be fun.
  14. QUOTE (dielac @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:29 AM) Can't really blame Thornton... Anderson hit that neck high. Dye should have made that catch. GOD is he slow. Looks like he has buckets of cement tied to his ankles. Come out of the bullpen throwing strikes next time Thornton.
  15. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:28 AM) against hunter? no way...if thornton gave up the hit to hunter we would all be torching ozzie right now...hindsight is 20/20, but i still think ozzie made the right call Yeah, I have no problem with it. Lost in this probably loss is Dye not catching that ball. I don't think he should have even had to dive for it.
  16. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:27 AM) The guy sucks in the field. He always has. He's not even a good right-fielder, he's an even worse CF. Toss in a .207 average, no speed and the fact we gutted our minor leagues for him and it's not going to be a shock that a lot of people arent on his bandwagon. He's just a character guy...he grinds, he had shaggy hair, he is a good interview on the Rome show, he donates toys to kids...but can he play elite CF? Hell no. But we have him locked up for 5 years!! I hope KW looked into things surrounding his drop in power last season, etc.
  17. This team is so bad! Swisher continues a stretch of horrible defensive play in the outfield, to go along with pathetic production at the plate. Ozzie's getting his ass handed to him this series as well.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ May 14, 2008 -> 05:24 AM) Looked like he hesitated coming in. Not only that, it looked like he was playing no doubles (you can't do that in that situation).
  19. Dye's lucky that wasn't an inside the parker, as he completely whiffed on it initially.
  20. Ugh, you have to be f***ing kidding me. That's a ball that has to be caught.
  21. Thornton's aiming the ball....his velocity is way down.
  22. QUOTE (rafacosta @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:19 AM) And people say Juan Uribe is our biggest problem... We have 4 players in our everyday starting 9 that you can say have sucked this season, and no one will argue: OC, Swisher, Thome, and Konerko.
  23. Well, this won't be fun. Angels have 500 hits to the opposite field this series.
  24. Uribe with two meatballs to hit, and can't do anything with it. We're just sitting around waiting for the long ball.
