White Sox Loser
QUOTE (rangercal @ May 13, 2008 -> 05:26 AM) I don't get it either. I mean he looked damn good in aaa. Granted, it was only 7.2 innings of work. Maybe a Broadway sighting could be near? No reason to take him out of the starting rotation. I'm sure we'll need a 6th starter sooner than later.

White Sox Loser
My dream LOOGY/ROOGY combo of Logan and Wassermann has been disappointing. Ozzie's done a good job of using Wassermann, but it's just not clicking for him this season.

5/12 White Sox (18-18) vs LA Angels (22-17)
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 13, 2008 -> 06:03 AM) Vlad shouldn't even have been to bat that inning. You predicted the Sox would be below .500 coming into the season, so I don't see why you should be dismayed by this. The division also is a lot worse than I thought it would be, so I have more hope than before the season that this team can be playing meaningful games in July. Danks and Floyd are better than I would have ever imagined.

BTW, Hunter has hit into 6 double plays already this season, including 3 against Buehrle in his career. Vlad also had a 1.344 OPS vs Buehrle in his career coming into the game.

5/12 White Sox (18-18) vs LA Angels (22-17)
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 13, 2008 -> 06:01 AM) It was the 5th inning! And we were up 4-2. You can't be a pussy and IBB walk the opposition's best batters all the time. Why must you nitpick? How in the hell is that nitpicking? You have an open base with Vlad up...I didn't even think for one second that we wouldn't walk him. If you think you pitch to Vlad in that situation, then you and I will never agree about anything in baseball.

5/12 White Sox (18-18) vs LA Angels (22-17)
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:57 AM) Our defense blew it and you know that. 9 times out of 10 with this team, the way we've been pitching, 7 runs is going to get us a win. Our defense did suck tonight, (most overrated left side of the infield in baseball) but do you honestly think it was a good decision to pitch to Vlad in the 5th inning? I haven't seen such a stupid decision all year among all the games I've seen. It's pretty simple when you play the Angels...anyone beats you but Vlad. I will now add Torii Hunter to the list along with Matt Stairs.

5/12 White Sox (18-18) vs LA Angels (22-17)
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:53 AM) Are you really a Sox fan? Sometimes I wonder. I really want to see Dye batting 3rd right about now. I'm absolutely a Sox fan, and I think Ozzie's time with the organization should be done. There's very little energy displayed by the team, even though they supposedly brought in more spark to the clubhouse. Besides that, his decisions to pitch to Vlad tonight were inexcusable. This team needs all the help it can get to win games, and they don't get that from their manager.

Fitting way to lose. Maybe Ozzie will say something stupid and get fired?

What a great at bat by Jermaine.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:42 AM) I believe ... that we are at best a .500 team. At worst, I could be convinced a pretty low win percentage. If it ends up being that the Sox suck this year, are you going to be saying how every win at the end of the season matters like you did last season?

Good thing we have Pablo hitting for Quentin in a 4 run game. Chalk this up to our fearless leader. Nothing like a 600 point difference in OPS.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:24 AM) Bootcheck is gone if they hadn't added those 4 IMO. Of course, but it's the principle of the situation. Could you imagine the outrage if Fields had done a similar thing in a 2 week span?

Good job Ramirez. At least we made Shields enter the game.

If the Sox score again, one could argue Crede's fielding cost the Sox for the 3rd time in two weeks.

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:20 AM) I know that hit doesnt mean anything but why not put JD in the 4 spot? Atleast he's shown to get some hits this year and isnt an automatic out like PK. Funny plays at second base for AJ tonight. He's looked better at the plate lately. I agree with you though, we have to move Thome and PK out of the 3/4 spot. Maybe it will take some of the pressure off of those guys.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:18 AM) I went to a game in full Sox gear in 2006 in Houston, and he still threw me a ball during BP. I can't speak to the character of a man I haven't met or known personally, but that act says it if any one act can. He's supposed to be one of the nicer guys in all of baseball. I really enjoy watching the middle of the Astros order.

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:57 AM) Volquez is looking like a guy that can lead the NL in strikeouts. The Texas Rangers currently have the worst starting rotation since baseball started back in the 1860s. There is no argument. You keep the potential ace. I agree with you that Texas should never trade their pitching.
