  1. It's ironic that Sisco had surgery today, as it ties into how much someone like Gload would help this roster right now. We're going to need a lefty bat off the bench to help us against tough righties. And when I say bat, I don't mean someone like Owens.
  2. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) Yeah and nearly everyone on this board thought the season was going to be over, and even in September the playoffs started to be questioned with Cleveland's surge. Point is we're roughly 5% into the season with 95% left, so it's far from over. In terms of football it's basically like Detroit as lost the first game of the year and the season's over. It's far from other I won't count them out. I still think the Tigers are the team to beat in the AL Central. The Indians don't look better than they were last year, and the Twins won't be very good. The White Sox and Royals will definitely win more games than they did last year.
  3. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) Ely is gonna be starter, he got real good stuff, so he is a starter because that is his future role. Ely's the type of pitcher you'd see on the Twins. 90-91 mph fastball, solid command, 3-4 pitches.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 04:26 AM) That's because most probably have you on ignore. I didn't know we had the ignore function. That's cool, good for them. I honestly would love for anyone that has such a problem with me to PM me and discuss their difference of opinions. Some of the best conversations possible on this site are with people you completely disagree with. In the end, we're all White Sox fans. Sorry for the confusion tonight knightni with that Cubs post.
  5. Can we just create a Cubs sub-thread in the Diamond Club where people like myself, Bull, and Santo can make comments about items referring to them?
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 04:22 AM) How is it baiting? It's how you post. Always posting like the dog of life took a s*** in your loafers. What happened to only posting stuff with substance? I've never once been warned about my style of posting. Some people don't like it, others agree with it.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 04:20 AM) Looks to me more like you were bashing the Pirates than acknowledging the Cubs. The 5-3 Cubs record wasn't accurate at the time, especially when I was told about Laroche's homer.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:01 AM) Because he can't enjoy being "right" now. Doesn't this go against the baiting we've discussed so much?
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:09 AM) Why delete it then? Why not accept that you're wrong occasionally? Cause I posted the Cubs had won. For some reason, my dish isn't getting Comcast plus tonight, so I was going off of the 4-2 final that ESPNews inaccurately stated earlier. But don't worry, they have the lead now.
  10. Corey Patterson with another nice game tonight. I can't believe no one would give him a one year deal.
  11. This is quite the save situation for Bass.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:01 AM) Because he can't enjoy being "right" now. Don't worry, it will go back up if the Cubs win. And the only reason I posted that was my wife asked me earlier today what the record of both teams were, as she's heard so much good about the Sox, and has heard a lot of people ask what's wrong with the Cubs.
  13. This is one of those terrible nights of baseball that I can only hope doesn't happen often.
  14. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 02:47 AM) twins offense is pretty solid especially when cuddyer returns It's not good at all compared to other AL teams.
  15. No reason for Ozzie to state this in the media. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AjrV...p&type=lgns
  16. With the way we've been coming back, I can't believe Ozzie let Masset face Thornton.
  17. Hey, Brian Anderson! He should be starting tomorrow for Quentin.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) Detroit looking like they'll get their 1st win, Kansas City beating the Yanks...at least the Indians lost? KC is a real solid team. Greinke might be the 3rd best starter in the division after the two Indians guys.
  19. Why would you not bring Thornton in? Ozzie left Nick out to die.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:03 AM) Yeah, Gload was so effective. In the right role, he'd be one of the best bench players in the league who could also be a defensive sub.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 02:01 AM) Paulie reaching a little. He looked so uncomfortable that at bat.
  22. Thome's just so off right now.
  23. Ugh, terrible result to that trade.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 02:36 AM) Baker is really getting them over. Pitching a damn fine game. This really isn't a bad thing, but it seems like our hitters might have been overconfident heading into tonight.
  25. Nice to see PK hit the ball well. Didn't someone say Swisher and PK would do good?
