  1. QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) My post only and not the type of post I sarcastically replied to? Both
  2. QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) I know, he doesn't get 2 hits every game and he doesn't bat .700 to start the season... he SUCKS No offense, but this is the type of post which I feel has really deteriorated this board.
  3. Very tough inning coming up for Floyd here.
  4. Hopefully Anderson gets some playing time when Ozzie gives Dye, PK, and Thome a rest. It's still the first week, but it sure looks like Anderson will get sent down when Owens comes back. And good grief, Cabrera has no bat speed.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Cabrera airmailed it. A good throw would have had Jones out. Are you even watching the game? I think Cabrera's just about the most overrated defensive player I've ever seen....but no throw was going to get home. Meanwhile, Toby Hall continues his run as the worst player in Sox history.
  6. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) Yes. What is your point? That Floyd had a good inning or two? The guy is terrible. Period. I want to be optimistic just like everyone else, but there is just no question in my mind. We'll talk about it later in the season and see how it turns out. Just try to relax and enjoy watching the games. Unless you were expecting this team to win 120 games, you had to know there'd be some weaknesses.
  7. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) The sooner Ozzie figures out two things, the better the Sox will be: 1. Gavin Floyd is not a good pitcher, and never will be. 2. Nick Swisher is not a center fielder. Swisher did a great job on that double by Inge.
  8. Nothing like throwing numerous fastballs to a dead fastball hitter. That's a disappointing sequence....and Cabrera made another terrible throw home.
  9. I'd like to see Floyd get that first pitch fastball over the plate.
  10. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) I love the first pitch swinging and 3-1 swinging. It almost looks like WIllis has good control. He's been missing by a ton, but we're chasing anything close.
  11. Wow, this is really annoying. Willis is nowhere near the plate, and we're reaching for everything.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) I believe that's Doug Davis for the Diamondbacks, unless there's another one I thought he said it was someone in the Fox studio.
  13. Who did Thom just say was diagnosed with thyroid cancer?
  14. Gavin spotted that fastball very nicely on the inner half to Cabrera.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) Thomas flies to left-center for out #1. Gavin did a good job throwing him strikes.
  16. Konerko taking an 0-2 safety swing on the first pitch. Give us a thrill Gavin.
  17. Cabrera's fundamentals continue to suck at the plate.
  18. I can't believe that Harangody made 1st team All-America (Statefarm) over Love, and Chris Lofton being on the 2nd team is comical. Lofton wasn't even close to being the best player on Tennessee this year (Tyler Smith).
  19. Fukudome's been awesome so far. Not quite sure why people are throwing him so many fastballs. He also is getting the type of calls from the umpires that Barry Bonds could of only dreamed of.
  20. QUOTE(ChiSox35 @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) D. Erstad 1-1 (double) w/ RBI against Marquis and the Cubs. The more you know It's too bad Cecil Cooper just left Oswalt in to die.
  21. No offense to DA and Rock, as they're two of my favorites on this site. However, I'm so sick of the Crede/Fields debate. I'm just going to root for both of them to do well, and try to avoid making any comments about how the other one would have done in a particular situation. Hopefully, Fields does great in the minors, and the Sox either re-sign Crede and trade Fields at peak value, or Crede leaves via FA, and Fields is ready to step in.
  22. It's easily the best place to go in order to get breaking Sox news.
  23. Never in a million years did I think I'd say this, but Chris Singleton is awesome on ESPN. He was on ESPNews earlier, and he's on Baseball Tonight now. He's easily the best of the ex-baseball players they've had on the show in the last 5 years. I'm proud of him, as he looks like a natural at this.
  24. Ugh, Ozzie deserves a lot of blame if Inge scores and we lose 6-5.
