Danks tries to dam the (West)brook..
QUOTE(SoxWS05 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) I don't think Ozzie called that, I bet AJ just did it on his own. It was a good idea, unfortunately he didn't execute. No, it was a terrible idea when you have the slowest man in the majors on 2nd base. If anything, we need ot use the speed we have on the bench, and just pr for Konerko there.

Danks tries to dam the (West)brook..
QUOTE(scenario @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) Has everybody simply forgot the epic rate at which Fields was striking out last year? It was Dave Kingman-like. Since when is striking out such a horrible thing? I'd rather have him swing hard and see the ball jump off of his bat when he makes contact. It's better than seeing Crede drop his back on every swing and pop up to the right side.

The worst decision this offseason was picking Crede over Fields.

Positive Catch All
I'm actually excited to see the development of Danks this season, as hopefully he can become a consistent member of the starting rotation for the next 5 seasons.

That Was Not As Good Of A Game... The Semi-Positive Postgame Thread
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) You won't like anyone throughout their Sox career. Is there any reason for this post? Honestly, this crap is getting old. It's a positive postgame thread, and I've complied with it. Nearly everyone on here is upset with Ramirez right now, but I think we need to step back and realize that we're not mad at him, but rather the position he's been put in.

That Was Not As Good Of A Game... The Semi-Positive Postgame Thread
Congrats to Ramirez on getting his first hit. I might be annoyed with him right now, but it doesn't mean I won't like him throughout his Sox career.

May a curse be on your house, oh tribe of Cleveland!
QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:41 AM) Game one was a normal title. I'm sorry, I thought it had a "clever" title.

I hope AJP plays tomorrow, and then let Hall face Robertson on Friday.

Well, that was an awful game. Can we try and change our luck and go back to the normal game thread titles??

QUOTE(Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Mayble will score 2-3 more runs and lose 7-5? Then we can hear once again about how this was a "positive" loss? Monday was a positive loss, as the team showed some energy. Even I can appreciate that.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Did that pitcher not know to just throw him breaking pitches and he will K?? It's Jorge Julio....one of the most underachieving pitchers I've ever seen.

Hey, congrats to Ramirez.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:29 AM) Marlins tore down the team and then rebuilt to win another one in short order.....Cards however... yeah they are just bad. Cards also have had major injury issues.

AJ's looked great at the plate besides that first AB.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:27 AM) Is there another team that won a championship and were riding high to drop off the face of the planet to become a laughing stock faster than the Sox have? Marlins, but that was a different situation. The Cardinals are looking pretty crappy now.

QUOTE(Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:26 AM) Not even two games in and I'm already sick of this team. I'm usually one of the more optimistic posters on this site. But this team has been a complete laughing stock since the all-star break of 2006. Damn, I sound like fathom. It's ok...I just don't see how this team will win a lot of games.

What a horrific inning of plate discipline. Just a shameful at bat for Dye.

QUOTE(SoxWS05 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:07 AM) without Granderson, detroit looks pretty slow. I was shocked to see Sheffield had more than 20 steals last year. None of their guys are as slow as our slowest guys though.

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:05 AM) Do you think that top to bottom, we have the slowest lineup in the majors? This lineup would give the Red Sox's lineup a run for their money. Ellsbury and Lugo are faster than anyone we have....so yes.

So here's a question that hopefully we won't have to deal with, but could be a possible situation: what if the Sox struggle this year, and have the chance to trade O. Cabrera at the deadline.... Do they do that instead of hold out for the arbitration draft picks?

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:58 AM) But he can dominate our softball lineup, which highlights why the Indians are so much better of a team. Well, duh! It just infuriates me so much to think that we can up most of our farm system this offseason, spent a lot of money on relievers, sent down Fields for Crede....and we're still a bad team.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:55 AM) After two games, I am amazed at how much of a better team the Indians arethan the White Sox. On another none, where is our Fausto Carmona? And where was Fausto Carmona when the Indians needed him to close out the ALCS? The thing is, I don't think the Indians offense is very good. Sizemore's a stud, but besides him, it's nothing amazing. Hafner really sucks now. The Indians have the two aces at the top though. I still think the Tigers are far and away the best team in this division.
