Be thankful for the rain delay on Thursday, if not, the Sox would probably be looking at a 4 game losing streak.

Maybe this will stop Hawk and DJ from saying that Konerko plays a Gold Glove caliber 1st base. With his horrible range, he's been below average his entire career.

Konerko's defense has been atrocious this season. If there were actually fans at the game, they should be booing the hell out of this team.

Dotel stays in to put this game out of hand. Watch Ozzie let Hall face the lefty closer in the bottom of the inning instead of letting someone like Ozuna bat.

QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) So what am I watching then? A mediocre lineup underachieving.

Goodness, this is pathetic. One of the worst offensive performances in Sox history. Just a terrible team right now.

Keep running all the way to Charlotte, Ramirez.

QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) Okay. The Sox desperately need to score at LEAST 2 runs. How about stringing some hits together or create a run. Just SOMETHING! I hate watching corpseball. One big difference...corpseball was when there was a s*** load of talent in the lineup.

Dotel got lucky the wind is blowing in. His 91 high fastball and flat slider is going to drive us nuts.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) I have been talking about this for years. Its the Joe Mays blueprint on how to beat a Greg Walker team. You spot low and away with sub 90mph fastballs. Our team will attempt to pull them no matter what. When you get 2 strikes, go to changeups in the dirt away ( which again we will attempt to pull ), or breaking pitches into the opposing batters box. That will shut the team down. Now on the other hand, you get a flamethrower hitting 100 and we will rock him because they challenge our softball team over the middle of the plate. Ozuna's been our best guy the last 3 years at taking those pitches and shooting them to the opposite field.

QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) I'm just so sick of this offense. It's the same s*** as last year. This team has no speed too manufacture any type of runs. It is the homerun or nothing. Just like last year. Good thing we don't play at Wrigley 81 games a year. We'd have no chance at scoring if the wind was blowing in.

We're missing the two guys on the team with the best batting average. Is anyone surprised this lineup is doing bad? This is a blueprint to the Sonnanstine game last week.

Greg Walker should just be fired between games.

QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) What about the one everyone thought was gone? It wasn't hit on the line like Thome's was.

Best hit ball of the afternoon.

QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) We have the exact same record after 21 games as we did last year. We're a better team than last year. That doesn't mean this is anything better than an 81 win team though.

Good a time as ever for Thome to bunt.

BTW, we haven't scored a run in 15 innings with Ramirez/Uribe/Hall in the lineup.

Good job by Thornton.

LOST!!!!
Any opinions out there about what's on the wall?

So here's my question....the explanation for why so many of our pitchers have lost so much velocity in the past few years is so they could have better command. Not only does MacDougal have no control now, but he's also lost 4 mph on his fastball. Either he's had just too many injury issues in the past....or we need a visit from "Max".

Please don't let MacDougal face someone with the bases loaded.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) Would you rather see Ozuna or Uribe against anybody? On a side note, MacDougal becoming slightly useful would be nice. I'd rather have Ozuna play every day than Uribe. If you're going to have each play one game today, I can't believe you wouldn't have Ozuna face a lefty.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) Do you think it's that gut feeling again? Hopefully it's not the gut that thought Dotel vs Abreu was a good match-up.

Some nice stops by Toby on that sequence.
