  1. I predict that Cintron is rewarded for that amazing at-bat with a start tomorrow.
  2. Haha...well done Ozzie. Way to pull Thome when he'd be the 5th hitter up in the 9th. Cintron is absolutely freaking worthless.
  3. Fields should steal 2nd standing up.
  4. The lineup we have right now might be the worst in Sox history (no Thome or PK)
  5. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:35 AM) Potential Lineup in the 9th inning against Putz -Uribe -Richar -Owens -Fields -Cintron Against a pitcher with this type of stuff...completely laughable. But people think Owens is a starter....GMAFB
  6. What I like about Wasserman is we actually have a reliever who pitches to contact. Too many of the guys we had to start the year had to throw 10 pitches to every hitter as it got to 3-2 and they'd have to try and get a strikeout.
  7. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:31 AM) I suppose so. haha...I do think there are a couple other organizations worse (St.Louis for one). But our situation in the minors with the exception of a couple nice Starting Pitcher prospects is indeed quite ugly. At least they have Rasmus.
  8. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:25 AM) The fact of the matter is we missed, and missed badly, on Pedro Lopez and Robert Valido. At one time, they were considered very nice SS prospects in this organization. Now they are basically turds. I like our situation at Catcher (another suspect position for us) FAR better. You could have made it simpler and said our minor league offensive talent is the worst in baseball.
  9. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:22 AM) I think I will back up on that suggestion. His fielding is above average (like Uribe) and his average is 25 points higher than Uribe's, but .............. the guy takes way less walks than Uribe (how could this be possible). He barely gets extra base hits, isn't exactly young....and just isn't good. He wouldn't be an upgrade at all.
  10. All of Ibanez's hits today have been on fastballs...maybe they might want to keep him off-balanced.
  11. This says it all http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  12. I've decided if the Sox bring Pods back next year, I'm going to ask to be banned from this site.
  13. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:12 AM) I'm starting to think the Jays McDonald might be worth looking at. Oh please no...he should be a back-up middle infielder. I'd rather have Uribe over him.
  14. Contreras will start the rest of the year for the Sox....100 pct sure of that.
  15. This is where I wish Ozzie would pull Contreras. Let him go out on a good note, and avoid the possible explosion.
  16. So, Ozzie needs to find a way to get Fields in the order next year between two lefties so that he'll face more LHP out of the pen.
  17. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:57 AM) This was most definitely a case of when keeping it real goes wrong for Fathom. I couldn't be happier for him. I wanted him to prove me wrong....and he did.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:48 AM) Next year they better not flip those cards, scary things will be glaring back at them. This made me laugh.
  19. Went to White Hen, and got back just in time to hear Hawk screaming about the homer. Very impressive by Richar....well done!
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:37 AM) His replacment then will either be a 40+ year old SS who used to play for Cleveland or a Pixie who plays SS for the Cardinals. Or a juicer from the Orioles
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:35 AM) You all realize that our fat shortstop will be back putting up a sub 300 OBP, sub 240 BA, and with worse defense due to the face that 5 million dollar options buy a s***load of doublemeat on the footlong subs he will be packing away like they are White Castles. I don't think he'll be back, especially after KW's comments the other day about OBP.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:30 AM) Bautista dominating us is one of many embarassing moments of this year. Batista has been pitching well at least. Getting shut down by Weaver was the worst offensive game of the season since Durbin dominated us way back when. This is probably the low point for the Sox organization in a long time with what's going on with the team and what is going on 8 miles north.
  23. Well.....check out the quote by Ozzie about not using young kids. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:26 AM) If you want to see what we are getting for next year, find who is on the 60 day DL or find out who is injured for the year right now. Lightning in the bottle is our method. Something cheap, that has some upside. But at least they'll have good at-bats. Appearantly getting hits and driving in runners is no longer important.
  25. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 03:24 AM) Oh I am convinced that next year will have the talent. I am absolutely convinced that this ownership will not pay the slot or more to the point overpay for a stud. We will pass and sign some turd that has one tool and they will pass it off as finding a nuggett of gold in the strawpatch. We'll take Jordan Danks
