  1. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:07 AM) I'll wait until May before judging this offense. Williams has assembled a World Series championship. Give him a chance. These are just two of the many excuses you'll hear if performances such as tonight continue. Both concerning the pitching and offense. We'll also hear: - Pods is the catalyst, wait until he gets healthy - This is the most talented team I've ever seen that hasn't hit their stride QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:08 AM) I'm not giving up yet but Erstad has to be released, Walker has to be fired, and Crede has to be benched or start hitting the ball into the ground before I'm putting any emotional energy into this team this year. The Yankees are going to need pitching!! Buehrle for Tabata....done I'll jinx him I'm sure, but I'm more confident with MacDougal on the mound than any other reliever Sox have ever had.
  2. There is a bright side to this: if we're going to suck this year and not make the playoffs, it's better that the suckiness starts sooner rather than later so we can unload Buehrle and Dye and continue the rebuilding KW did last offseason.
  3. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:04 AM) When was the last time they had an OF assist? Pre-ASB 2006? I have a very solid memory, and I don't remember any assists since Dye threw out someone vs the Twins during the middle of the 2005 season.
  4. Our outfielders do a great job getting into throwing position. Why are we wasting MacDougal tonight?
  5. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:58 AM) Detroit took the lead 7-6. That team is a class above everyone else in the AL Central.
  6. If not for C.C.'s fielding gaffe, would Erstad by like 0 for his last 25 now? Again, thanks for nothing this offseason KW with this offense.
  7. Gotta love two different times when Cintron and Mackowiak led off an inning and chased a 3-2 pitch, and then K'd on a pitch down the plate. Our bench = awful.
  8. QUOTE(SoxGovernment @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:50 AM) kinsler is on my fantasy team whooop You just won my least favorite poster award. Congrats!
  9. Vintage Rangers game here. Garland's throwing meatballs this inning. We should have never let Kinsler beat us there. Pitch around him, and get Wilkerson in a K/DP situation.
  10. How sad is it that Sosa has a better approach than any of our hitters.
  11. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:44 AM) Who, outside of Thome, is old in our lineup? AJP, for a catcher, should start to lose a step. Erstad, with all his injuries and games played, is going to slow down also. When I look at this offense, the last thing I think is that we're anything but a young team.
  12. The good news is we have Mackowiak/Cintron/Erstad up next inning. Jphat....I still stand by my statement that the talent is massively overrated.
  13. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:42 AM) "Oldest" and "old" are different. Nah, pretty much the same. A lot of guys at the age where they should see their bat speed start to diminish.
  14. That first pitch Crede took was such meat.
  15. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) This team is not old by baseball standards. Just clueless right now. Our offense has to be one of the oldest in all of baseball.
  16. How many times is DJ going to use "even though we're struggling to hit, we're still only X amount of games below .500"?
  17. Nice bat speed AJP. Can someone explain again why we didn't call up another offensive player with Pods out?
  18. Haha, this is absolutely comical. Nothing like seeing hitters get old in front of your very eyes.
  19. These pitches are right down the f***ing plate. Terrible, terrible effort.
  20. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:31 AM) hard to picture the sox scoring on anything but a solo dinger It really is amazing how difficult they make hitting look if they're not hitting homers.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:29 AM) A 2-hitter loss to follow a 1-hitter loss. Sounds good This might be the best I've ever seen Garland pitch.
  22. I'm deeply concerned for southsideirish right now.
