The Phillies might not make the trade unless they can get Freddy Garcia from the White Sox, probably using Aaron Rowand and Gavin Floyd. It's unclear whether that will work, and White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen isn't wild about the idea. "We have a center fielder right now," Guillen said. "I won't trade one of my pitchers one-for-one for Rowand right now. He's a good player, but we're not desperate for a center fielder. I love Aaron, but we need more." Please don't do this trade KW!

Tampa's asking price is insane for Rocco. From the sounds of it, they'd want two top prospects like Fields and Broadway.

What's the difference between Pods and Bonds? Both are horrific fielding left fielders who have seen their power numbers plummet since the 2004 season and both don't hustle down the line. One is a future Hall of Famer though, and the other one is a future Schaumburg Flyers designated hitter.

I really don't know why more teams aren't considering him. Yes, he's a bad person. However, the ratings for any game he plays in are going to be insane once he gets within 10 homers of the record.

Yahoo reports Mets talked to the Sox today about Garcia.

After about 10 minutes to rethink this trade, this might be the worst possible scenario that has been mentioned yet. Not only is the "prospect" we would acquire not very good, but Rowand is a 4th outfielder. I'd rather have McCarthy start the year in AAA than have this trade occur. However, I'm confident in saying this deal won't take place.

Madson reminds me of McCarthy in some ways, and that's not necessarily a good thing.

I actually trust that Garcia will magically find his 92 mph fastball again during his FA year. On the other hand, unless the Phillies are offering Rollins, Howard or Hamels, I really hope KW puts down the phone. We can do much better than some crappy 4th outfielder and a medicore pitcher.

BTW, I hope people don't start freaking out if KW doesn't make a move during the meetings. It's better off if he waits until Zito and Schmidt sign.

There's only one problem with the Yanks trade....ARod doesn't want to waive his no-trade clause. It's too bad Ozzie had to open his big mouth last offseason.
