Mel Kiper jr.
QUOTE(shakes @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 05:12 AM) I do respect Mel, because the league respects him. You can't say that about too many analysts on ESPN. I can't remember which talk radio program it was, but they suggested playing replays of past years drafts on ESPN classic. Just to see the analysis and predictions of their futures. I think that woud be fun to watch. NBA TV does this in the days leading up to the NBA draft, and it's fun to watch. The NFL Network should do something like this.

Delmon Young throws bat at umpire after...
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) He should be suspended for a calendar year No....that's way to strict. Give him a 20 game suspension....that should be plenty.

Delmon Young throws bat at umpire after...
QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) I believe the difference between a AAA and MLB talent wise is razor thin, it's attitude and mental abilities that can make the difference for most players. That's true for 95 pct of players. However, Delmon is just a baseball phenom, and he can continue to be the biggest ass in the world....and he'll still be a MLB superstar. As someone said earlier in this thread....the D Rays have no one but themselves to blame for letting Delmon be on the same team with Dukes. If Delmon was smart, he should have just claimed he was tossing the bat to Upton. Everyone in the world knows that Upton would have just let it go through his legs.

And that's a White Sox loser
QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 05:51 AM) Given that we haven't hit Moyer well in recent years and we were riding an eight-game winning streak going into Monday night, I don't fault Ozzie for sitting a few regulars. We should be able to score more than one freaking earned run off of Moyer, even with Dye and Crede on the bench. I must have been raised to view sports in a different way. Usually, when you're on a big winning streak, you try to keep everything the same. It's when you're on a losing streak, you have no problem making some changes. It's all in the past now, and I hope we can win 3 more games on this road trip.

And that's a White Sox loser
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 05:24 AM) I would say 3/5 of our starters in the rotation are fly ball pitchers. They would get murdered if we had a small ass field just a regular fly ball or a hitter who was just a tad underneath a pitch could probably go out. You do know the Cell is considered a "small ass" field when it's warm out?

And that's a White Sox loser
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 05:15 AM) Widger to me looks like he just wants to hit a homer with his big swing every time up. Cut down your swing Widge!!! As a back-up catcher, Widger is fine. Over time, he'll shorten his swing out, and he'll be hitting big homers for us against lefty pitchers.

And that's a White Sox loser
This is an honest question for my fellow Sox fans....even with our stellar pitching rotation, do you think the Sox team is better suited for a smaller, homer hitting park? In my opinion, we're a better team when we're mashing homers and our pitchers are keeping the other team in the park.

Heading West, are the demons still there?
I'd rather see the lefties off the bench against the Angels pitchers instead of how we had the bench players face Moyer.

And that's a White Sox loser
Positives: - Brian Anderson's swing is getting better. Even though he didn't have the results, he looked more like a hitter at the plate. - and that's about the only positive you can take away from tonight

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:22 AM) And you bring it up all the time like I care. Is there a reason you two keep bringing it up over and over? Is that all you got? I've cut down on about 90 pct of my comments to you at the request of people I respect on this board.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:21 AM) overall I would rather have sizemore. but for our situation, I kind of have to agree with jphat. How? I simply can't FATHOM how anyone who knows a lick about baseball would say that.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:20 AM) There is a big reason why ozzie is the manager of the world champions and your padding your post count whining in a forum. Did I miss something? Last time I checked, Uribe went hitless in the series.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:18 AM) Saying that you would rather have Sizemore starting in LF over Podsednik is not being negative -- it's being realistic. No it isn't. We can't get Sizemore so why even care about that? I wish we had Rowand instead of Pods, tho Pods has been hot lately. Greg...we're not talking about actually acquiring Sizemore. This is a decade old argument we've had with jphat that he'd rather have Pods as a leadoff hitter than Sizemore.

Good series Uribe

I'm so happy we have Cintron on our bench for a situation like this.

No me gusta Uribe's chances here.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:14 AM) I must say I'm glad your back posting more. Especially at this point in time after losing 2 of 3. You do know he's constantly posting stuff in the chat all game?

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:13 AM) I'd rather have Sizemore starting in LF and batting leadoff with Podsednik off the team. Thank you. I can't believe anyone would still rather have Pods as their leadoff hitter over Sizemore. Sizemore's going to be a 10 time All-Star....and Pods is going to be batting 9th for the Royals in a couple of years.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:10 AM) Yep. Glad to see it's catching on. If only we had Brad Lidge. If only we had Grady Sizemore

Our only chance of winning was getting Guardado in the game.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:06 AM) I will take our regulars over Ozuna in Left, Mack in RF, and Cintron at 3rd any day of the week and twice on sunday. We lose with our best with our best effort fine. We play the Sunday lineup and just come up short then f*** us. We all know that Ozzie is going to do crazy things like play 3 benchers in a game, etc. That's fine and dandy...he deserves the freedom after last season. However, to bench 33 pct of your starting lineup when you're on an 8 game winning streak and destroying everyone just seems dumb. Against a slumping offensive team like the Mariners, it's disappointing we didn't play the red hot Crede and Dye.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:02 AM) :rolly Trust me, there's no one that likes Uribe's defense more than I do. However, he's been a step slow going up the middle all season. It's been negated due to the fact that Crede's range has been better than ever to his left, and Iguchi's range seems about twice as much as it was last season.
-
White Sox @ Mariners 4/26
Uribe's range is down right now. There's been a few plays lately where he seemed a step slow. His inability to field Bettancourt's grounder on Monday night in the 7th might have cost us the game.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 03:58 AM) Not our night tonight. BTW, even before this series started, would anyone be dissipointed with a 3-3 road trip with the M's and LAAA? Nope, that would be fine. A 2-1 showing in Anaheim with our two worst pitchers going it's going to be difficult though.
