  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) Ozzie quit being a f***ing dumbass. Neal vs. RH>Viz vs. RH Cotts is a situational lefty. You should know better. And anyone criticizing Cotts right now is INSANE!
  2. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) Hmmm if this was Marte again there would be mutiny on here. Good grief....Cotts hasn't allowed a run in over 20 outings. He walked a guy on a 3-2 pitch, and then gave up a chopper into the outfield. It's a big difference between that and hitting guys on terrible sliders.
  3. Blah...this game seems to be sliding away. I want to be careful with what I say, but ever since I saw that s*** in the paper about the attendance, I had a terrible feeling that we might be due for a slump. It's one of those things where the players should have just stayed quiet and "stay the path".
  4. Interesting game plan against Cotts: Don't swing!
  5. Looks like it's time for David Sanders and Kevin Walker to be our lefties out of the pen!
  6. And that's why I don't make optimistic predictions Out of all the starters, Ozzie needs to resist benching Iguchi. He always states how it throws him off of his game. Besides Iguchi and PK, there's no problem giving one or two starters a rest every game.
  7. That was a great pitch for my prediction to come true. A slider will K him.
  8. Ozzie seems to be saving Willie to run later in the game. It's kinda disturbing he's the only guy with any speed on our bench with the expanded roster.
  9. Iguchi will hit a homer to the opposite field here. It's my one optimistic call of the season!
  10. Guess this means we'll see Timo in the 9th if Sox have to bat and the leadoff spot gets up again.
  11. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) damn uribe What?
  12. Ozuna seemed too busy trying to run instead of making sure he got that bunt down. I'm still not sure why we have Widger still in the game.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Possibly the worst aspect of Howell's game to stomach was his poor location and equally poor arsenal. I compare his pitching performance to Douglass in that if we were to face him again, I guarantee the team scores more than 4 runs. They simply put together terrible AB's. When we took pitches, Howell made a lot of mistakes. You bail the pitcher out a lot of the time by swinging at the first offering.
  14. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) Or Randy Johnson, take a walk wid, we need ya. Good call
  15. How about we have someone run for Widger? Absolutely no reason not to utilize our deep bench right now.
  16. Widger's been struggling with good fastballs for a while now. Where's Barry Zito when we need him?
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:59 AM) Ozzie hasn't pinch hit for a catcher all year and I can't say I blame him...when you're carrying only 1 backup catcher there's reason to be careful with those guys...what happens if you pinch hit for him and then AJ gets hurt or tossed out of the game? Casanova's on the bench
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Stairs is hitting the ball MUCH better than Sweeney, who is really struggling. Walking a guy like that to get to Stairs would've been really dumb IMHO. Well, I've forgotten that Ozzie fears Stairs more than anyone else. Not only that, but I just think Garcia has hung way too many pitches tonight. I'm happy with the results....but I would have managed differently (as if anyone cares).
  19. Whew....still have a great shot in this game. I can't believe we keep challenging Sweeney.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) I find myself in complete agreement with that statement. Which means Ozzie is doing the opposite.
  21. Lets walk Sweeney, and bring in Cotts to face Stairs.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) Remember...once again, they have by far the easiest schedule in the AL the 2nd half, at least amongst the Wild Card contenders. That's why that sweep of them earlier this year was so damn huge. I think Minnesota gets a shot at them this weekend. Which means they'll likely keep winning a high percentage of games, especially with C.C. and Lee pitching lights out lately. The Sox have done a terrific job this month of winning the games they had to, and need to keep up the focus. The only way the Sox won't make the playoffs is if they have another prolonged slump.
  23. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) inning/score? 3-2 KC after 6 innings.
