  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) OZZIE JUST SAID HE IS GOING TO GO TO MIAMI TOMORROW ON THE OFFDAY BECAUSE HE NEEDS A DAY OFF FROM THE CITY OF CHICAGO. NICE QUOTE OZZIE IN THE POST GAME NEWS CONFERENCE Nice quote Dusty. It's fine, we get the day off tomorrow from his horses*** decision making and collapsing team.
  2. I got excited when I saw Guillen and fired in the same sentence! If we did give up on Marte, that's a terrible move. Talk about blowing any trade value he might have had.
  3. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Why wait? Wouldn't you rather whine now and get everybody's attention? I've been told basically all season to quit my whining, because this was a team of destiny with the best record in baseball. My concerns all season (in-game managing, lack of offense, overachieving starting pitching) are the same concerns I still have. I never would have imagined the Indians playing at such an amazing rate though.
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) Yeah who gives a rat's ass about the facts if they don't favor your argument? Do any of you actually expect Cleveland to keep winning? As s***ty as our team has been these past few weeks, Cleveland is winning the same games (4 game sweep of Detroit, winning 2 from the Twins.) Our last 3 games of the season are against the Indians so I really don't see them catching us by the end of the month. Yes, I expect the Indians to keep winning at an extremely high rate. They have an extremely talented team, with a dynamic offense, very good starting pitching, and a great bullpen. Guys like Martinez, Perralta, Boone and Blake have completely turned their seasons around, and C.C., Lee, Millwood and W'Brook have been better since the ASB than our top 4 pitchers have been. The Indians also have all the confidence in the world that they can comeback from huge deficits. The Sox, on the other hand, can't comeback from more than a one run deficit in nearly 50 games.
  5. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) If we did not sweep the tribe right after the all-star game we would be sooooo f*cked We did though, so big deal.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) The White Sox site says Marte is unavailable for this entire series. A combination of a bad neck, plus confidence issues. So all he's got is Cotts and Sanders. So maybe he is in fact thinking about what pitchers he can use today. So it sounds like Marte has loser's limp. He probably hurt his neck turning around to see that blast that Emil Brown hit off of him. I have a feeling we've seen the last of Marte in a Sox jersey.
  7. BTW, someone in another post is reporting Ozzie kicked Marte off the team today. Can we please fire Ozzie and his ego?
  8. Wow, that would be something. I've been saying this for a month now, but we're seeing a full organizational collapse.
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) :headshake What's Cleveland's record against us this year? Who gives a s***. It's been a tale of two halves for the Sox and Indians this year. We're not the same team we were earlier in the year, and they most definitely aren't.
  10. See, this is what pisses the living s*** out of me. Today's the type of game where Marte should be pitching and trying to get confidence. Rather, Ozzie's wasting our only reliable lefty in mop-up duty. Of course, that would require some actual thinking by Ozzie.
  11. We're terrible. Not even jphat can find something good to say about this game.
  12. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) This post has been edited to remove objectionable material. Soxtalk encourages a free discussion between its members, but does not allow personal attacks, threats, graphic sexual material, nudity, or any other materials judged offensive by the Administrators and Moderators. Thank you. I'd watch it. You might be El Suspended.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Now Ozzie can say "Well, B-mac gace up two runs, so it doesn't matter that I started El s*** face." Wow, if he did say something along the lines that McCarthy didn't have a lot of success today, there might be a riot on soxtalk.
  14. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) Ozzie will have them singing and dancing in the club house after the game irregardless. I wonder if Ozzie know they played music even when the Titanic was sinking? I just hope he goes down with the Titantic, if it does happen to sink.
  15. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) this is the worst game i've seen in a long long time. We've said that an awful lot of times lately.
  16. If it makes anyone feel better, the local media will probably be talking about the Cubs being in the wild card race (likely 5.5 games back), and will care less about the White Sox's collapse.
  17. The good news is that we should miss Santana when we play at Minnesota next wknd.
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) We're just going through the motions. We need some serious help from the Twins tonight. Going through the motions at this time of the season is inexcusable.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) We're just going through the motions. We need some serious help from the Twins tonight. Sadly, I have greater hope for a Twins win tonight than I did for the Sox game today.
  20. Lackey's just throwing fastballs down the plate now, and letting the Sox hitters get themselves out. After not having a 4 game losing streak all season, we're about to have our 2nd 4 game losing streak in about 3 weeks.
  21. Another thing that Ozzie did which I think might have hurt the psyche of this team was the whole Marte debacle on Wednesday night. There was just an awful atmosphere during that whole situation, including the booing by the fans. Even though the Sox hung on to win that game, something just didn't seem right about that situation. It kinda reminded me of the Paniagua disgrace.
  22. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Pardon. Tuesday's line up. We might score runs. Something we are unfamilair with. Well, we're facing Cy Wood and Cy Howell. Our backs are against the wall against those two superstars.
  23. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Yeah, it's hard to turn a Hyundai into a Lexus. This offense is mediocre w/ all its components in there, and below average when a starter sits. Bingo, great analogy. I've never thought that Ozzie has done a good job at putting this team in the best chance to succeed. At what point will Hawk stop using s*** like "the big picture", and this team will realize that will be no big picture if the immediate picture isn't taken care of?
  24. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Ozzie should piss the team off tomorrow and put a line up out tomorrow like this. Lf Pods Cf Anderson RF Borchard 3b Ozuna SS Uribe 2B Iguchi 1B PK C Cassanova DH Gload Leave in Pods and Uribe because the are the only ones hitting. Leave in Iguchi because he always seems to be resting. Leave in Pods because the only other back up outfielder is Timo. I would love that lineup tomorrow. WE DON'T PLAY TOMORROW!
  25. Chone Figgins is the type of player that a lot of Sox fans believe Pods is. Figgins is so much more valuable than Podsednik though.
