  1. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) I'm tired of Guillen resting our players in September. He may have rested them-- with good success-- for 4 months, but we no longer have a 15 1/2 game cushion in this division. Would it be too difficult to keep a consistent lineup for a week straight? The Indians have maintained basically the same lineup for about the last two months, and have developed tremendous offensive chemistry. We keep mixing and matching our lineup around, but the talent level is still well below average.
  2. One of my big fears all season was that when the division race got close (not once did I think the Sox would win it going away), Ozzie Guillen would have no clue what he was doing. So far, I've seen nothing that leads me to believe Ozzie has any clue in regards to keeping the Sox at the top of their game for the rest of this season. Believe me, there's nothing I want more than the Sox to make the playoffs. However, I can't imagine what Ozzie and Hawk's quotes will be like if the Sox don't make the playoffs. You're going to need all the shovels in this world to clean up that pile of bulls***.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) 1st and 2nd with one out. That wasn't predictable now, was it?
  4. How many 3-2 counts can we just make lazy outs on because Lackey throws meatballs down the plate?
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) That's because he doesn't care that his team is losing, right? I never said that at all. I just left that comment alone, because we all knew it was silly. Iguchi is on the record saying he hates sitting games because it throws his swing off. Yet, Ozzie continues to rest him about once every 4 games now.
  6. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) But Iguchi needed a day off. Apparently Japanese players tire easily and don't care if there team is loosing. Don't forget that Iguchi struggles for a few days after he gets a day off.
  7. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Meanwhile, Lackey is starting to cruise :sleep Nothing like the power of Pods and Willie to scare a pitcher on a 3-2 pitch. Both guys were able to work the count, only to ground out very weakly on get-me-over fastballs.
  8. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) The Sox are playing like zombies again today. Ever since the players b****ed about the attendance, they've played like crap. It's safe to say that the Tigers pitching made our hitting look good, and not the other way around.
  9. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Don't worry about 06. KW will make changes for the better if this team fails in the playoffs................trust me It might be hard for him to make changes from the unemployment line. If the Sox fail to make the playoffs, I have a feeling he'll be the scapegoat, and not Ozzie.
  10. Well, whenever the Sox have jumped out to a 4 run lead early in the game, we always seem to let the other team jump right back into the game. I wonder if our offense will just bend over for the Angels though.
  11. There's no reason to get excited for the Bears this season. Once again, their offense is an absolute joke. You're not going to be a team capable of winning a playoff game with the offense they have.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) I agree that life goes on. But 15 1/2 games up on Aug 1st? All hell is gonna break loose if we blow this thing. As well it should. What's the worst that could happen? I don't give a s*** if the media makes fun of the Sox for monts because of a collapse....they would deserve every last criticism.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) It has nothing to do with the weather. It's the fact we can't hang with elite teams. It's a lot harder to hang with good hitting elite teams when the ball is flying out of the park. We won a ton of 2-1 games early in the season because of how big the park was playing.
  14. Good start by Duque today. I'm sure glad his veteran presence helped him step up in a big game for the Sox.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) Sup everybody. I was gonna wait until after the game to post, but I seriously can't watch this crap right now. We are on the verge of an epic late season collapse right now. I'm not too worried about the collapse. If it happens, it won't change our lives in the long haul. I think most Sox fans have realized that this 2005 team isn't a once in a lifetime team that is destined to win the World Series. There will be a 2006 season no matter what happens.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Did you see how far that ball carried?? And Gload hit it off the end of the bat the other way!! Can't say I did. I was watching the Bears debacle. Was it close to going out?
  17. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) True, that doesn't help either. But The Cell is a launching pad right now, and were not taking advantage of it. We knew this was going to happen when it got hot out. That's one of the main reasons that our starting pitching was so great in the early part of the season.
  18. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) I know. But when Figgins has 2 homers in 2 straight games, and just missed another one, it makes you wonder. It tells you that our pitchers are making some terrible pitches.
  19. Yankees just won, so the Wild Card lead will be down to 7 after we likely lose.
  20. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) For the love of God, get this washed-up "pitcher" out of there! Thankfully, we have him for ANOTHER YEAR!!!!
  21. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Figgins JUST missed a 3 run dong. WOW has the ball been REALLY carrying this weekend. Why isn't it carrying for the Sox then?
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) I can't wait until Duque magically gets hot for the playoffs. He's gonna be a sweet playoff ace. He shouldn't be anywhere close to the playoff roster. However, we might not have to worry about that decision if this collapse continues.
  23. Who's allowing more points today: The White Sox or Bears?
  24. Why is Duque pitching? With our lackluster offense, why is Ozzie basically leaving him in to give us NO chance in this game?
