  1. Someone needs to teach McCarthy how to catch the ball! Why can't any of our infielders catch now?
  2. I'll give you this: Point number 1 is outstanding.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) There's not even a guarantee we go 15-18. Wow, I'm sure I've heard that somewhere else? There's nothing that annoys me more than statements like "all the sox have to do is play .500...etc."
  4. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) '05 W Sox = '69 Cubs??? Maybe!!! Right now, it seems more like the 2004 Cubs with the announcers saying dumb thing after dumb thing, the manager seemingly sleeping during the game, and the players making lame excuses. It's called COMPOSURE!
  5. QUOTE(Ishmookie @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) The Sox are really starting to fall hard. Theyve lost 8.5 games of their lead in 2.5 weeks. That's the definition of choking.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) I'm worried about how they are playing, not about losing the division. Our lead is 6.5. Every team in baseball would KILL for a lead like that cept for the Cards. After this series is over we have an easy schedule just like the Indians have had. Jphat...I'm actually with you on this, that there's no reason to give up hope now. However, it seems like we've been saying "oh, the lead is 10...oh, the lead is 8...etc." How long until you actually get worried?
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Haha. I'm seriously worried about you guys. Yall are gonna have a heart attack before this seasons over. I think it's the people that were in denial that this team wasn't the greatest of all time are the ones who are ready to jump off the ledge. Seriously, if we completely collapse, we didn't deserve to make the playoffs, and KW better be looking for another job.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) f*** this team. Game over. 4 in a row. Probably five after tonight. 3 in a row.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Hitting isn't coming around. They'll get nothing for a while, then have a couple good games, then nothing for a lot longer again. We simply don't match-up well against good hitting teams now. This week will likely be real bad against the Rangers and Tigers.
  10. This is just a full organization collapse, from the GM to the Manager to the pitching to the offense and to the defense.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) How did I know Carl would have an awful AB? He hit the ball hard. One of his better swings actually.
  12. I don't know how, but I have as much confidence in Timo now as I do anyone else on the team to get a hit.
  13. It's too bad Pods couldn't return a week ago to show KW that he alone wasn't going to spark this team.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) A little over a day for KW. He has to do something because even making the playoffs will now be a struggle, let alone not getting destroyed in the first round. He should know by now that he has to do whatever he can to help this team. He has to get someone to at least shake the team up. No move by midnight tomorrow will mean no second round of the playoffs for us. I don't think people are concerned about advancing in the playoffs anymore. I think people are beginning to worry we won't make the playoffs.
  15. The exciting thing is that we're going to have another Sunday lineup in for this next game. I'll bet that the Rangers play their 4 core players (all of which are better than any of our hitters).
  16. BTW, what did Willie Harris do to deserve getting the chance to start on this team again? For a team that's struggling offensively, I don't see how adding one of the weaker hitters in the AL is going to help your offense.
  17. Who would have guessed that Pods and his .220 on base pct in LIPS wouldn't come through there? I just got home from work, but to let Wilson dominate you like this is pathetic. Also, when will Ozzie just take a starter out before the start of an inning when it's obvious they don't have anything?
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Cy Young sits us down 1-2-3 Unbelievable. He couldn't even make it out of the 3rd inning in a few of his starts this season. I think we'll get to him this coming inning...but we need Garland to shut down the Rangers.
  19. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) New Pitcher + Sox Never Faced = Shut Down Rest of the Game If you get shut down by this guy, you deserve to lose. I think a lot of our guys match-up better against him than Benoit.
  20. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) New pitcher: C.J Wilson for Texas He was roughed up badly when he was a starter.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) Kings*** makes the play - 2 down Oh boy
  22. Tough to just blow scoring opportunities like that. At least we're back in the game....for now at least. Good job offense!
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) This sign stealing BS is old. Hey Hawk, if the Sox think Texas is stealing signs, why don't they have anyone smart enough on the team to change the f***ing signs? Is Hawk still whining about the sign stealing?
  24. If we were to win this game, it would be our first victory this month after trailing by more than one run. If that doesn't speak wonders about your offense, nothing does.
  25. QUOTE(atrain081 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) I'm used to this by now. Every pitcher we've had for the last 3 or 4 years have faded towards the end of the season besides Colon. Look at Loaiza 2 years ago, Buerhle this year and last year, and now Garland. Maybe we SHOULD go to a 6 man rotation. Or maybe we shouldn't have every pitcher basically throw a ton of pitches every game, no matter what the score is?
