  1. Hamstring problem for Widger. That's got to be painful for a catcher.
  2. This is so so so ugly tonight. The offense, outside of a few plays, seems completely lifeless.
  3. I'm sure Macdougal will look unhittable, even though the Indians were able to light him up a few weeks back.
  4. jphat....start saying everyone sucks this inning. We need you!
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:47 AM) Last I checked these guys are being paid millions of dollars to play a game. I don't think it is their right to be pissed off about attendance with the costs of going to games for families these days. Well, they sure seemed to be annoyed with it last night.
  6. Good play by PK there. This crowd is dead silent though. If the place isn't louder tomorrow, I could see why the players would be pissed.
  7. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:42 AM) Well he relys on his deception of his fb and gets a lot of K's, isn't that considered finesse or do I have it confused?? Sid Fernandez was considered a power pitcher, even though he didn't throw very hard.
  8. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) Finesse is more like it. I disagree. He relies on his high fastball to get hitters out. A finesse pitcher, in my opinion, is someone who tries to hit the corners with their pitches and relies on location instead of stuff. Cotts doesn't strike me as the type who tries to hit the corners.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) I'd love to at least see Dye moved to the three slot. THere is no reason for Rowand and Everett to be hitting in front of Dye right now. Either that or move PK to the three hole and Dye to cleanup. The funny thing is we can all argue about this stuff 24/7...and you have to be nuts to think Ozzie will change things.
  10. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) I like the looks of that Anderson kid, but he's had only one good game since being called up. I would like to see Borchard replace Everett and get a look at Joe for awhile. See what he has learned. We face a lefty tomorrow in Washburn. Anderson should get the start in LF, and sit Everett while allowing Pods to DH. The problem with Everett is that he's not contributing anything if he's not homering now.
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Good thing I have my Royals mlb.tv feed. Neal Cotts is a power pitcher and Iguchi pulls all his HR's according to them. Isn't Cotts a power pitcher?
  12. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Dye Uribe Borchard in the 9th? AJP. And you must have been on another planet to not know who would get the ph call before Borchard.
  13. Rowand grounded out to first.
  14. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) The Dodgers game sometime back in June? So you're saying there's a chance?
  15. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) konerko struck out. Super
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) Who wants to bet we get two on in the 9th with no body out and blow it? When's the last time we had a 9th inning rally at home?
  17. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) Anyone else just lose the game? Yep
  18. The Royals relievers have looked much better this series than the Sox relievers.
  19. The quality at bats this week by Everett continue. Thankfully, we have him batting in front of PK.
  20. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) Not my fault Neal couldn't get the job done. Garcia had a QS. THat's getting the job done as a starter. Neals job is to hold the team down for one inning. He couldn't do it. He walked the leadoff hitter and blew it. Not even a negative person like myself can get mad at Cotts for having ONE bad outing for the first time in 24 appearances.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) good point fathom, at least i hope the players moaning doesn't somehow cause a funk. I wish Cleveland would lose a few f***ing games. I'm not afraid they will overtake us or anything but their excellence is pissing me off No s***. With the way they're playing, they're going to give the Sox all they can handle. The larger the lead, the more comfortable I'll feel when we face them. It's back to the point where everyone thinks it's a foregone conclusion the Sox will make the playoffs. Personally, I'm rooting for the Indians to get a large lead in the Wild Card in case things in the AL Central ever get too close.
  22. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) The Royals are playing small ball a la Ozzie with that bunt. Why do our guys go through these dead looking periods? Because this team isn't good enough to sleep walk through games and yet still win easily. It's tough to complain though about a 7 game winning streak, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt tonight.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) I think gettting worked over by the worst pitching staff in the majors for a 2 hitter is worse. Yeah, we've had 3 leadoff walks tonight, and did nothing about it. I guess too many balls hit right at people?
  24. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) There is the squeeze and a two run lead, now we are done. --If we are done without a fight at home against one of the worst teams in baseball history, we got problems. We aint done yet. I don't remember the last time we made a come back at home in the last two innings of the game. At least Pods and his near .200 OBP in LIPS is out of the game....IT'S TIMO TIME!
