  1. Where Would He Play? rant version 10 here.
  2. I hope Dye's playing down the RF line, cause Punto is late on everything.
  3. QUOTE(lukeman89 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) wow folks, this is are first solid ball game (so far at least) in like, the last 2 weeks. we are getting hit after hit after hit, and not scoring just by the long ball. granted these pitchers arent terrific, but we werent scoring at all against ANYBODY. this looks very good, this could be the beginnings of a nice winning streak, especially with jon going tomorrow. Lets just win
  4. Ugh, not the person to give up a hit to. Hold them to one run, and call it a good inning MB.
  5. QUOTE(Gldfinger5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Is it just me, or is anybody else sick of hearing Hawk talk about last night's game? You would have had me agreeing with you...especially if you didn't add those last 4 words of the sentence. We haven't had any stretches tonight, have we?
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) That's been my point when I thought he should get out of the 2 hole, maybe even leadoff and have Pods bat second. Yep, especially when our 3-4 hitters have struggled to get runners in for a few months with less than 2 outs and someone on 3rd base.
  7. Iguchi is so much better at the plate when he just tries to drive the ball, instead of trying to move up runners. I could care less if he doesn't try to get the runner over the rest of the year. All that results in is worse hitting counts and potential Ks.
  8. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) Tonight looks much more promising than the 6 run inning vs Randy Johnson!!! Agreed
  9. Timo just barely survived a fathom rant there!
  10. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) He should, however, be on the major league roster. No reason that a bat like his is in AAA... He should be a back-up 1b. The funny thing is that's been one of our biggest holes all season.
  11. Joe's not swinging like a pussy this inning. I'd rather see him swing hard and K than to just throw the bat out and pop up weakly to 1b.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) I was actually thinking about Milwaukee. I think Overbay will be right at the top of the Sox' radar this offseason. I'd love to see Overbay and Mueller brought in next year for the corners, but that's a long way off. Remember, it's a hell of a lot easier to trade a player with one year left on his contract. I'll say this: in a way, I'm happy that Gload isn't putting up a season this year like he did last year. I would never want the Sox to even consider him for the starting 1b position to start the season.
  13. This is the f***ing Buehrle that nitetrain loves to hate!
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) Good point, and McCarthy is dominating at Charlotte. I don't know what's going to happen next year. If Contreras finishes the season on a rush, I'd tend to think his trade value would be at a peak -- I assume he'll finish the season with an ERA around 4.00, and for $6 million bucks, that's a good deal. It's pretty much Buehrle/Garcia/Garland, and after that... we'll see. I'll be shocked if Contreras isn't traded this offseason. We need to free up some payroll, and many teams will be willing to invest in Contreras with one year left on his deal. You don't think a team like the Reds wouldn't give him a shot to be their best pitcher?
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) I'm really not trying to be negative, but Rowand just looks LOST Absolutely. He's become either Mr. 5-3 chopper or Mr. Foul ball over the 1b dugout.
  16. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) Fat Lecroy, Mauer, Redmond I'm sure any of their other players could fill the position, and make an outstanding play against us.
  17. Buehrle needs to just shut them down this inning, and keep all the momentum on our side.
  18. I'm also ready to conceed that the Indians will lose tonight.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) I believe so. Mauer, Corky Miller and Redmond. LeCroy is supposedly a catcher too though he is mostly a DH for them. I don't think Corky's on the roster anymore? If he is, then he's their 3rd catcher. If not, LeCroy definitely can catch.
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) Next year's rotation? Santana - Radke - Silva - Liriano - Baker... Big deal. I'm not worried about rookie pitchers dominating right away for a full season. Where's our rotation next season with McCarthy?
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) If Cy Mays is getting roughed up by the White Sox, its time for him to consider another line of work, considering his history against us. Haven't we kicked his ass lately?
  22. Dye's definitely making an effort to hit the ball to right center again. SSI has got to be content with that.
  23. Hey hey....way to go Dye. Mays is really a liability for the Twins. I won't be surprised if this was his last start for them this year. Baker has got to give them a better chance to win. Who cares though, he was exactly what this team needed.
  24. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) Joey, we could have had runners at first and second with one out. You mean 2nd and 3rd?
  25. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Close. Hopefully 4 is enough. With Dye struggling hardcore I like the call by Joey. True, I forgot Dye was up. It's just a tough call with Everett not running well at all these days.
