  1. Buehrle continues to struggle against the top teams in the AL. Outside of the Angels, he's been pretty awful against teams like Boston, Oakland, and the Twins. There's not a doubt in my mind that Garland is our ace.
  2. For the first time all year, I'm changing the channel. This ship is sinking, and it's gathering more water day by day.
  3. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) Time for a MELTDOWN THREAD. No, no, no. Meltdown's can only happen if the lead gets within legit distance, such as 6. I do love how great our manager has been at motivating these guys.
  4. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) I almost hope the lead goes down ...so Kenny and Jerry realize that this team needs help and snaps out of their complacency... By that time, it will be too late to make an acquisition.
  5. Anderson looked pretty s***ty on that play. Buehrle just sucks now. Where's that guy who thought I was dumb for saying I'd take Santana over Buehrle in a heartbeat?
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) 35:1 we don't win the division.... I would take that bet. Not saying it will likely happen, but at those odds, I think the possibility is higher than a lot of other bets at similar odds.
  7. The Twins actually seem like they're having fun playing. The Sox players look like they have a stick up their ass.
  8. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) THANK GOD WE HAVE A HUGE LEAD IN THE DIVISION!! Best post of the night. Every day, I look at the date, and just wish it was late September already with the Sox having the lead.
  9. This is vintage Sox vs Twins late in the season baseball.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) Yeah, this is getting downright pathetic. Wait until we face Mussina, Randy, Radke, Santana, Silva, and Felix Hernandez next week.
  11. Watching this game, who would have ever thought that one of these guys was the AS game starter, and the other wasn't.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) We suck right now. SUCK SUCK SUCK. Nice to see you come around. Will you now admit that this division is not a guarantee?
  13. If we're going to lose, I really want the Sox to get no-hit. I don't think that makes me a bad fan. Rather, hopefully it would be a slap in our faces, and wake some people the f*** up. As long as it's not a Cubs pitcher, I don't mind it.
  14. We're missing these pitches by a foot. Not only that, but the crowd has already been taken out of the game.
  15. Good grief. Someone might want to tell him Santana has a change-up.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Don't shoot me or anything, but just possibly, maybe we aren't as good as we thought we were. I still think this is a very good team, but how will we match up against the Red Sox, or the Yankees if they get in? You're telling me not to shoot you? I don't think our offense is even in the same area code as other teams in baseball. The fact we're 10 games over two very solid teams in the Indians and Twins totally baffles me. It's my greatest surprise ever in sports.
  17. Never thought I'd say this, but I would do anything for the Cubs offense now.
  18. c***o could have been called out for being inside the base line.
  19. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) if it helps, the Sox still have a nice lead in the division. These are the dog days and the Twins, for the first time this season, are playing some good baseball. We'll kick their ass next week at the dome. I agree, it's so weird to think we still have a double-digit lead. Next week at the dome, we likely face Radke, Johan, and Silva.....I don't like our chances.
  20. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) I already counted this game as a loss before it even started. I just hope The Tribe loses tonite. Me too. I love the Sox...but I'm absolutely disgusted by their energy level lately, as well as the attitude of the front office. BTW, PK slipped up in the pregame tonight and said how the Sox had lost 5 in a row.
  21. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) We are lined up with a lot of hard pitching the upcoming week. But when you play the better teams you're going to have to face the better pitchers. And we haven't exactly done well against the better teams this season.
  22. Well, we're f***ed. Another run or two for the Twins, and this game is really a long shot to win. At least Hawk seems a little quieter today. He must be taking the day off from Sox Fellatio 101.
  23. I just want to know where the people who told me to stop being such a pussy for scoreboard watching with the Indians and Twins are now? People might want to b**** at me for being pessimistic, but at least I'm consistent in my belief. I almost got into a car accident on the way to work this morning having to avoid people jumping off of the Sox bandwagon.
  24. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) They have beat us the last 4 years, why wouldn't they expect to be us otherwise. No Hunter, Jones, Stewart, or Mauer in the lineup. If we get crushed tonight there are even more serious problems than anyone realizes. The Sox will just say they lost to Johan, that's all. I can't believe the pitching we're lined up to face in the next week or so. We're in a s***load of trouble.
