  1. Seen this story play out before.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) If crede does not score this inning i break something. I agree. Pods is the type who should be able to hit flyballs when he wants to.
  3. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) I have one request: Let Widger play right field one day a week. Haha. I'm not sure how he handles 1b, but I wouldn't mind him giving PK some rest there if he's capable of playing the position.
  4. I said it a few weeks ago......Widger is our most dangerous hitter. He constantly puts the sweet spot of the bat on the ball.
  5. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 11, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) Contreras back to that turtle pace without AJ catching...now the catcher interferance....thankful nothing came of it though Hopefully, A.J. will catch Contreras almost all the time. It was the right call by Ozzie tonight to play Widger against a lhp, with a day game tomorrow vs a rhp.
  6. Ozzie going to let Contreras pitch to Singleton here?
  7. Contreras is like Tom Gordon where the catcher should never set up inside. Widger has set up inside about 10 times tonight, and Contreras has badly missed the spot each time. Contreras is one of those pitchers who should just throw the ball, and let his arm angle and stuff take care of the rest. He'll never have pinpoint control.
  8. Ozzie needs to get someone up in the pen now.
  9. This game has a bad feel to it. Another game where it seems we should be up by like 5, but it's tied. When Rowand's hitting a rocket to center that doesn't seem to carry, but Toby Hall hits a pop up to LF that seems to keep going....it just doesn't seem like the feeling is good.
  10. That's about the 5th time this season Rowand thought he had a homer, but it was caught at the fence.
  11. Everett's righty swing is so ugly. One of the most surprising plays of our season so far was his 2 RBI rocket off of Sisco.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 11, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) I'm pretty sure this is the first time he has caught him. It was the right call by Ozzie to start Widger tonight with the LHP starting...but you can tell there's a different rhythm on the mound for Contreras.
  13. This umpire's strike zone is not good for a Contreras start. He's not getting the low strike.
  14. Quick question: Has Widger caught for Contreras yet this season? I've noticed that Widger seems to be setting up on the corners more than A.J. typically does for Contreras.
  15. Tampa called up hard throwing J. Colome tonight. I'd expect to see him pitch in relief tonight.
  16. Rowand is so much more dangerous against LHP. His swing is perfect for a ball coming from the lefty arm angle.
  17. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) I am constantly amazed, in a good way mind you, how Jose C and even Hernandez can make the right pitches in critical situations. True....but just remember there will be games where these guys give up 8 runs in 4 innings. So far though, both have done a great job at avoiding the monster inning (besides El Duque in the first inning vs Cleveland, but that was Everett's defense's fault).
  18. Wow, we escaped a potentially big inning there.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Contreras meltdown. His arm angle is bad right now. Hopefully he finds it soon. Good job there against Sanchez.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) I'm not sure what you're watching, but whatever you say. He was sliding into 2nd and it hit him on the way in to 2nd base, that would be on the 2nd base side. That was not Dye's fault, I am frustrated with him too though. But if you say so that's fine. Like you said, we're all frustrated with Dye. However, I know we have to just hope he picks his game up, because he's not going anywhere.
  21. Very good play by Iguchi there.
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) Bulls***. It's ok to hate a guy, but that ball hit Singleton sliding in. That's certainly not the right fielders fault. That throw by Dye was well up the line. Look where it hit Singleton...it was well to the 3rd base side of 2nd base. From that distance, most MLB RF would have thrown out the runner at 2nd base. Just remember, one of the reasons we brought Dye in was for his arm.
  23. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) God damn Singleton. This is unbelievable. Why is it always one scrub a series who kills our team? We have to start playing Singleton more down the RF line. His last 3 hits were all in the same spot.
  24. Another poor play by Dye in the outfield there. Any decent throw would have had Singleton easily at 2nd base.
