  1. QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) Obama fans are finding faults and bashing the pick. What a shock. And the GOP would never do that...
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:29 PM) However, I will not eat crow for wanting him to be benched. and I don't think you have too....BUT this is for you Jimbo
  3. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:06 PM) Pop up Paulie for his massive amount of pop ups I called Podsednik "El ScoPo" after the notorious "el Guapo" from Three Amigos See, I think of it more as "Joey Pop-Out" but thats just me
  4. I was always there for you my love!
  5. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 02:38 PM) Wait until you turn 30 I had a really big "WTF???" moment on May 26th hahaha....me an adult???...Ill agree with Kyle... but I will have a huge moment on Nov. 10th....I will be able to rent a car w/o any extra charges! well enterprise already let me do that so what do I have to look forward too now....
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) Every relief pitcher who disappoints is forever known as Jizzcan to me. QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) Now, bear in mind that these are stupid and I only say them at home cuz my wife knows I'm dumb already: That's the whole point of this thread!
  7. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:30 PM) How does a 1 1/2 year govenor from one of the smallest states in the country play with working folks in WV, OH, PA, MI, IN, etc??? Well, she probably hunts/fishes and being from a small town usually sends the message "working class"
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:16 PM) Haha, I felt the same way, I like the way Clinton handled it. "EVERYBODY SIT DOWN!" haha Billy Boy is the man..... "THAT'S ENOUGH!"
  9. I may be wrong but aren't the cabinet choices made after the election? If so the VP choice has to be more important at this point in time.
  10. So my big question is...Who here who has been watching the DNC is going to pay as much attention to the RNC? The DNC had a stupendious lineup which kept me watchin, and I was in the middle of it so it was that much more exciting. I may tune in to the RNC for the Bush speech on Monday (for laughs and giggles) and probably the McCain speech on Thurs...there is really nothing else that excites me.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) We do too argue we do, but we don't attack people...even though sometimes we want to
  12. Since most of the people who have been participating in the Filibuster for the last week or so are in here...I would like to say thank you, this has been a pleasent release from White Sox baseball talk. Mostly the people who depress me....its funny you would think politics would piss me off more, but no, just wild negativity for a first place team...
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) Many people who have attacked Obama have been painted as a racist. Heck Biden himself got a taste of that. The difference is....Obama doesn't play the "race" card in his campaign....McCain's campaign is his Military and POW experience.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) Because he has well-established, strong foreign policy credentials, plus he is something of an alpha male, in contrast to Obama, which frees up Obama from having to get in political fistfights a bit. I was just sayin b/c if he were going for the big prize these numbers would actually be an issue. Here they are not....plus everything that you listed...
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) If we are talking about the type of people who don't want a woman President, they are probably the same kind who don't want a black fella as President either. Most narrow minded people are consistantly narrow minded. I guess that is true....put them in the "I'm not gonna vote" crowd
  16. QUOTE (YASNY @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) "At the University of Delaware, Biden was 506th out of 688 classmates, and a history professor said he was "trying to be the complete Joe College." In a recommendation for law school, the teacher called Biden average in "intellectual achievement" but high in "command of English language" and recommended him based "on grounds of personality and general promise." Biden ended up 76th out of 85 in his law school class; the law school dean described him as an academic "disappointment" but praised his "confidence," "general physical appearance" and "general speaking ability" in recommending him as a lawyer. " Exactly why he is a VP canidate... What were Cheney's school rankings?
  17. I have to say, what happens to the red southern white men who wouldn't want a women president if McCain drops dead...(which is a possibility more than Obama b/c of his age)
  18. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:51 AM) GOP having a little fun ha, someone handed me a McCain one that had oil rigs all over it...too bad I don't have a scanner
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 07:36 AM) Do you know what attracts me to Obama and why I like him so much? It wasn't his line antagonizing McCain that he was ready to debate, it was his line about how politics don't make the man. Politics have gotten way too personal the past 8 years, with Rove marginalizing half of this country as unpatriotic. But the truth is I enjoy every poster on this board, alpha dog, mr genius, kap, so what if we disagree. There has been way too much emphasis that if you are x then you are unpatriotic or you are a fascist when that is not how we live. I'm hopeful in x years we can move to a much more central ground of understanding. Yea, that speech was in no way bi-partisan, other than the fact he was attacking the GOP canidate
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) Pat Buchanan: Biggest Political Gamble in Recent Political History Buchanan is voting Obama.....did you see him spooge over his speech last night? It was hilarious
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:21 AM) only it sounded great because of Obama's ability to read and deliver off the prompter. I cannot wait until the debates...
  22. So pretty bored here at work and I was thinking that since "the Big Hurt" has left us I refer to him as "T-Bone" I have no idea why but its just something my head made up. If you could change any former or present White Sox player nickname what would it be? (here is your chance to take it out of Hawk's hands) Edit: Wow, I used the wrong spelling of the word bored...
  23. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) If you understood why that was said the way it was said, you wouldn't mock it. The sad thing, it's truer then not (it's not completely true, but it has SOME merit). please elaborate
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 05:58 PM) John Kerry's speech was excellent and way better than the analysts talking about made up riffs that was covered were. I totally agree with you. Kerry's speech was one of my favorite's....and as one analyst put it "It was the speech that would have won him the presidency in 2004"
