  1. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) Seriously...I always get dicked when FOX carries them since they're not on Extra Innings. Yep...just checked I get the Mets game on Saturday....i don't think I have gotten one FOX sox game this season...I used to hate it when I had extra innings...now I hate it even more that I don't...
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) They showed up for the primaries - that was the example. I think they are just as likely to show up on election day. Millions of new Dems voted in the primaries. Touche on that one....but then this brings me to this...what about the new voters that signed up to vote for Hillary
  3. So how'd you all spend your rebate checks?
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) While they have strong support, I think it pales in comparison to what Obama has built up. The new voter registrations alone are huge numbers. Yea..but the huge problem with that is...actually getting those people off their asses to vote...sure they can sign up online or from a person on a street but that isn't going to automatically give that vote to Obama, especially if there is bad weather in their neck of the woods on November 4th.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) But last night I watched a terrific documentary on the History Channel that had footage from 8 or 9 seperate people in various parts of the city - some as close as one block that morning. Needless to say, I sat for an hour and half with my mouth open in awe, pretty much like I was that morning. I watch that too...it was pretty amazing
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Tornadoes: Saw one, about a mile from me, in Boulder, CO of all places. Wow, that is strange...south towards Denver in the flatter area or more towards the flat irons? The 3 years I was livng there there was def weird weather....Huge hail storm on the day Jean Benet's Mom died..it was rather strange and have never been through anything like it...and of course the normal 70-80 degree day in the dead of winter.
  7. Let me tell you something....FOX games are NOT nationally televised...f*** FOX
  8. I was out here in Colorado during the huge blizzards a few years ago during Christmas...was actually supposed to fly home (I still consider Chicago my home) the day the first one hit. Wound up having to drive instead b/c i wouldn't have been able to get a flight in until Xmas night. Have never seen so many semi's drivin and stuck on the medians/side of the highway. The one I remember the most was a Fed Ex semi that was flipped which boxes spewed all over the place...I really wanted to stop (COME ON I believe all Fed Ex shipments are insured so its not really stealing right?) Throughout the 3-4 weeks there was so much snow that I remember people's front doors almost being covered. Plus...they don't use salt out here b/c of "enviromental reasons" that was probably the worst. I mean when I was livin in Kalamazoo Michigan we got that much snow every winter, they were just better prepared to handle it. Never live there...never

    Lunch Thread

Still got 2 hours 20 min til lunch but I got no sandwich fixins on the homefront....the question is Subway or Quiznos....? They are like the only places I choose for lunch if I go somewhere now, there are probably 30 different cheap places on the 16th street mall here but the 5 dollar subs are just too good of a deal to pass up.
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) You know what that sereis told me. The Blue Jays are really good. If not for an inept GM who finally fired the asshat manager and got a decent manager in there they would have been in the pennant race all season. They also lost another really good starting pitcher...the name escapes me. This team simply gave Reed Johnson and Frank Thomas away. I think you have something here...at the start of the season I thought they were actually gonna make a push. That team on paper looks really good.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 10:23 PM) Is it still meaningful to you? Yes and No is too black and white. I'm in the middle. I wish we'd go back to the days right after 9/11 where everyone was nice to each other there was a mutual respect I've never seen in my young life and it was nice. This is why I think the day has really lost its meaning. They say never forget, but the never forget part is the plathera of shows on TV hollywoodizing the day. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 11:45 PM) My wife is due to give birth any day now and let me say... I feared our child being born on September 11th. He / She would never fully understand, but when he / she tells an adult his or her birthday, I know the FIRST thing that will enter their mind is the twin towers. I sat here at work yesterday and I didn't want to put the date on any of the things I was entering on the computer...its just weird....and speaking about birthdays, chicagobears.com had a story on the front page about how Caleb Hanie's Bday is septmeber 11th...I mean really COME ON
  12. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) The Border Fence is behind schedule and current projections have this boondoggle at $400,000,000 over budget. And it will not solve the biggest problem, American businesses need workers willing to do some pretty crappy jobs in agriculture. Migrant work just sucks, but we have hundreds of thousands of people willing to do that work, just to the south of us. During war time we were quick to implement the Bracero Program when we did not have enough young men to sustain our ag industry. Too bad the current political climate calls for US educated kids to work these jobs. I always wondered if this whole "fence" thing is really gonna work. I mean as Ian Malcom puts it "Life finds a way." Do you know if they are building it like 20 feet into the ground to deter tunnels as well?
  13. If we get enough responses do you think we can get on MSNBC?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:34 AM) BTW, tell your beloved manager to stop using our scrubs in a pennant race. There's a reason these guys were in the minors all season. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I love Ozzie but I mean WTF?
  15. don't let these Detroit pussy cats ruin our season...you know they will be gunning for us
  16. I got the Paulie bug after his walk off in MN I think in '03. The one that pulled him out of his funk...
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) That 2005 is the only World Series highlight that still gives me chills to this day. Thanks for everything, Cap'in. Sounds like a parting remark...
  18. WOW...whatever though I loved him while he was here

    What do i do?

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) I think in the long run telling her will be a good thing. Younger girls are so into playing games that if she starts thinking about you with other chicks that if she has any feelings for you it will really affect her. Its a much different feeling for her than knowing you are sitting there waiting for her. I think the Bomber has something here...

    Hmmm Pedicures

QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 12:54 PM) And I heard they shave the bottom of your feet down so much it hurts to walk on them the next day. I bought my girlfriend the "Ped Egg" for our anniversary (no joke, we wanted to go cheap and thats what she wanted) but that is basically a cheese grater for your foot. It sounds nasty and leaves foot powder in it after she's done. As for pedicures, I don't even like getting foot massages, just soemthing about people touching my feet...I dont know maybe I am strange.
  22. Dustin Byfuglien from the Hawks and Jenny McCarthy's aunt worked in the Warrenville police department....umm I didn't know her too well
  23. only based on 120K responses? can't be that accurate...whats that like 3 people per county? And whats with that county in Minnesota jutting into Canada? Looks like its around the international falls area

    Sandwich

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 04:40 AM) It really depends on where the sandwich is from. ^^^^ I really have to go with that answer, but a few of my favorites are Panera's Tuscon Chicken Sandwich ( I think they may have taken it off the menu, bastards) or Gonella Bread, slow roasted beef, sweet peppers, dunked in au jus, with some giardiniera if the mood strikes me
  25. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 03:51 AM) WAY TO SALVAGE!!!!! way to look at the schedule ass...
