  2. Bumping up. Fegan has an article up at the Athletic. Think subscription may be required but it is a bit updated and all of us who responded above are pretty much right on the money. He has a lot of the obvious and pretty much the same bubble types.
  3. Loved Fisk for that. I am old school and don't mind pitching inside at all. In fact, I believe you have to to be effective. I understand moving a guy off the plate and yea even intentionally hitting a guy. However, you should hit him where Kopech did (ass by accounts) but I don't believe in 99mph. 90 mph , (for Kopech might be a change up LOL) is plenty and you actually have to throw it hard enough to control it. Forever it has been part of the game up until the last 25 years or so. If you homered, you expected/prepared to get buzzed the next time. Some guys would buzz you twice so you knew the first wasn't a mistake. Look at this quote in a story from Callum Hughson of Dusty Baker being warned about Bob Gibson by Hank Aaron “(Hank Aaron told me) ‘Don’t dig in against Bob Gibson, he’ll knock you down. He’d knock down his own grandmother if she dared to challenge him. Don’t stare at him, don’t smile at him, don’t talk to him. He doesn’t like it. If you happen to hit a home run, don’t run too slow, don’t run too fast. If you happen to want to celebrate, get in the tunnel first. And if he hits you, don’t charge the mound, because he’s a Gold Glove boxer.’ I’m like, ‘Damn, what about my 17-game hitting streak?’ That was the night it ended.” —Dusty Baker

  5. Basabe with a HR. #5 at AA #14 overall. Fulmer got shelled
  6. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates?date=08/14/2018 for some reason milb won't show on my iPad but the MLB link does.
  7. Nice job on the write up. I agree he will be interesting to watch. Rule 5 eligible if I am correct and I would protect at this point.
  8. I am an optimist. I know it is only one statistic, but right now Adam Engel has a higher batting average than Yoan Moncada .227 to .221 If you told me that preseason, with out knowing the numbers, I would be advocating to extend Engel. lol
  9. got both in thread below. can merge or delete mine

  11. Barring injury---Rodon, Giolito, Lopez seem to be givens. Service time may be only Kopech question. I expect Covey to be a long man and reasonably successful. So, I expect one or two reclamation projects and/or minor league deals as a last gasp for deadline flip candidates. We should see Kopech from the start/early, then the beginning waves of youngsters.

  13. Notice Henzman came in after Hansen. Earlier, we heard they were limiting innings on Henzman. I bet we might see them piggybacked for awhile as they work with Hansen.

  15. Burdi in in AZL 1 ip 2h 1er 1k
  16. Great interview! Coop gets fired up and you can tell/feel his passion. He's not planning on going anywhere for awhile sounds like.
  17. I would think with where he was mentally and mechanically , they might do a couple side sessions first. Would think he should pitch soon. Not sure if as a starter or reliever. I don't mean reliever long term just that it might give time to work on side more between appearances for awhile.

  20. Love the pitch counts from the DSL. Wonder how a guy even comes up with them. Perez 7ip on 34 pitches. LOL, its that way all the time. Don't know how accurate other stats are as well.
  21. If inside he goes left field, if outside he goes right field, already I like and it was a bp session lol!
  22. I wonder if next year, with the prep time, if we will see Madrigal at short somewhere. Doubt they abandon it after just a couple games.
  23. Credit to Flash for mentioning this guy in the game thread. Doing well enough to split out I think. He was a tenth round pick, senior sign for 10k. Another reliever in college that we seem to be picking up. Was supposed to be breaking ball heavy and his senior numbers aside from k's didn't impress. Future Sox noted" This spring as a senior Sousa had a 5.23 ERA with 61 strikeouts against 22 walks in 43 innings. " Not sure if the White Sox saw something fixable but current line is impressive: Stats from MILB.com LG LEVEL W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO IP H R ER HR HB BB IBB SO AVG WHIP GO/AO Minors 2018 [-] - Minors 2 0 0.42 13 0 0 0 5 5 21.1 9 1 1 0 0 4 0 29 .123 0.61 1.92 Great Falls PIO ROK 1 0 0.00 9 0 0 0 4 4 13.0 4 0 0 0 0 0 0 18 .089 0.31 1.88 Kannapolis SAL A(Full) 1 0 1.08 4 0 0 0 1 1 8.1 5 1 1 0 0 4 0 11 .179 1.08 2.00 Minors Career - Minors 2 0 0.42 13 0 0 0 5 5 21.1 9 1 1 0 0 4 0 29 .123 0.61 1.92 Greatly improved walk rate. Most promising to me is he is left handed. Worth watching. 23yo. It is a testament to the depth of the system that guys like this are hardly getting noticed anymore.
  24. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates Medieros listed for AA.
  25. Just went back and looked at yesterday and every single reliever in our minor league games pitched at least an inning! You apparently can finish games without using 5-7 relievers for the final 6 outs!!!!! Seriously, when you are trying to do it by committee you end up using a lot more guys. One benefit of the upcoming waves of bullpen talent may be relievers being able to go a full inning or even more thus putting less strain on the bullpen overall.
