Not the worst HBP in the world.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) I agree, and it makes me appreciate Danks so much more How he held this offense in this ballpark to 3 ER over 7+ I will never know. He really is the balls.

I hate this f***ing ballpark and I hate this f***ing team. I can't wait until this f***ing game is over so I don't have to see another game in Arlington for the rest of the year.

Awful throw by Konerko and a short arm from Cabrera, awesome.

Scary but effective. 1-2-3 inning for the Count.

Good start to the inning for Jose, 2 quick outs.

Burnett is just plain icky. 4.89 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, has missed about 18 starts due to injury over the past 2 seasons and can opt for free agency at the end of the season.

Jim Thome now sitting at .892

A Crede/Uribe platoon at 3B wouldn't totally suck.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) Isn't Bradley due to attack a fan, coach, umpire, annoncer soon. Actually he's due for a 2 month DL stint.

So Thome already has a double today. Lets say in his next 3 ABs he goes 2-3 with a HR and a single. And finishes the day 3-4 w/ HR, 2B, 1B. That would push his OBP to .379 and his SLG to .521 which would put his OPS at .900 for the first half of the 2008 season.

Joke of the Day: Carlos Marmol an NL All-Star
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) Kyle Lohse got screwed. Johan got screwed.

Joke of the Day: Carlos Marmol an NL All-Star
Since May 17th: 26.1 IP, 7.18 ERA, 1.44 WHIP

Joke of the Day: Carlos Marmol an NL All-Star
Kinda like a .790 OPS 3B with 17 errors making the AL roster.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 12:05 PM) So Carlos Marmol is added to the all-star game cause K. Wood has a blister. How does a set-up man with a 4.50 ERA deserve to make the all-star game? Clint Hurdle is out of his f***ing mind.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
Jim Thome's OPS is up to .876 on the season.

Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) What his strike out per at bat rate for each month? For him, it's all about making contact. APRIL: AB/K: 3.17, .855 OPS MAY: AB/K: 3.15, .644 OPS JUNE: AB/K: 3.78, 1.064 OPS JULY: AB/K: 4.86, .952 OPS (even higher after tonight) Last year in July he put up a .970 OPS while striking out once every 2.94 ABs.

Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) I like the Jim Thome we've seen as of late. He's using all fields and making me look like an idiot (keep on doing it Jimmy, keep on doing it). He's been going to all fields for the entire season (as I've pointed out on numerous occasions), the balls are just now starting to drop for him. He's been sporting an unusually low BABIP all season.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) Danks just around 95 pitches. ERA of 2.52 coming in, the same right now. His ERA would be 2.45 if the official scorer was at all competent.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:18 PM) I wonder if Lexi is an airhead? He sometimes makes some dumb decisions with the glove as well. I still like him, though. Well according to Hawk he's the best "baseball player" on the team. I'd think being an airhead would disqualify a player from earning such an honor.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) Where are you finding these stats? http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/event...jo01&type=b Under "Locat" Crede hits all his HRs between 7 and 78. Which of course is left and left center.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) And I assume Fields had at least 4 oppo field homers last year? Joe Crede: 4 career opposite field HRs in 2724 career ABs. Josh Fields: 5 career opposite field HRs in 393 career ABs. Less than 1/10 of Joe Crede's career homeruns have been hit between center field and the right field foul pole.
