Red Sox/White Sox Trade Proposal

The Great Kason Gabbard is pitching again tonight. Lets hope he gets lit up. -
The fuse has been packed away for the Summer.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) Outside of the comebacker to the face Bryce Florie took for the Red Sox and the 2 injuries that lefty Saunders suffered for Tampa Bay, that was about the ugliest thing I've ever seen in a baseball game. I'm glad Redmond wasn't seriously hurt, he's lucky that wasn't the case. Ruben Mateo, Jason Kendall, Robin Ventura even Mike Mussina. Just to name a few.

Sox interested in Orlando Hudson/Elijah Dukes

QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) You absolutely know KW will be trying to somehow get Eric Brynes... Well he is a free agent but he'll be getting more years and $$$ than he's worth due to his very much inflated .864 OPS this season. -
I'm going with it.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) Could be like DLS, an All-Star game thing... I keep playing with BR's Play Index... The two games are the first since this brutal Cleveland series in 1999 [Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3] that the Sox have allowed 12 or more runs in back-to-back games. Some good names there (Navarro, Baldwin, Parque) I love that thing. Today has been the perfect day to test out its capabilities and it has not disappointed. -

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Hudson hates getting days off and thinks he should be out there everyday until he is about 41. Per Rotoworld: But then this is what Melvin said in reply to that... If that's how he feels then then the string of hamstring injuries he suffered in his years with the Blue Jays must be a thing of the past. If he feels comfortable playing everyday and hasn't had a flareups since leaving Toronto then I'd have no problem with him being in the lineup most everyday. I don't see why Richar needs to be handed a starting job for next season. He's 24 years old, he can spend his age 25 season learning how to hit major league pitching while being the 25th man. This is assuming the Sox want to try to contend for the next 3 years, if a full rebuilding process is what they're looking for then I guess Richar would be the starting 2B and there'd be no need for a 30 year old. -

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) What about Richar? He's not starting on my team. He's playing the Ozuna role instead, while given Hudson ample time off to keep him away from the DL. -

Hudson has another year of arbitration remaining before he hits free agency after '08. It shouldn't be all that hard to work out an extension with him since he is a seconbaseman, doesn't hit leadoff and doesn't hit for incredible power. Something like 4 years, $5M per would be pretty fair for both sides and would take care of his final year of ARB while keeping him around through his 34th birthday. He's the best defensive secondbaseman in the game, has pretty good speed (doesn't steal a lot of bases), has a pretty good eye, doesn't strike out a lot and will hit between 10-15 homeruns. He's the kind of guy you stick at 2B and forget about. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) Dye gone. This got a hell of a lot more interesting. You suck. I felt a preemptive strike was in order. Since you're around and all. Morneau is going deep. -

QUOTE(toasty @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) excitement & suspense = 50 mph meatball pitches??? Yes. How is that any different from 92 MPH straight fastballs? At least with Heager you don't know what the hell is going to happen when the ball leaves his hand. Each pitch is a new, whimsical adventure. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Why in the world would be keep Dye? Add him in a package to get a little something more. Give me Sweeney in LF, Milledge in CF, and Kemp in RF if thats the case. So you're trading 2 SPs? Because you're not getting Kemp and Milledge without dealing 2 of the top 3.

May 17, 1979 Cubs lose 23-22 to the Phillies in 10. Neither starter made it past 1 out before being pulled. That has to be the ML record. -

From what I can tell, the Sox have never given up more than 21 runs in a game and they only did that once.
