QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) They actually sounded much more intelligent about the situation than Len and Bob yesterday. Yeah, they kind of took the general stance that any moron who follows baseball would take. I do hate it when they call guys like Erstad 'former All-Stars' when they haven't appeared in one in over 6 years I don't really see how that's relevant. As for Kermit and Cakes yesterday, I had the picture-in-picture going so I could avoid that whole mess, Nantz and Packard managed to get me through the Sox game.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) Is it because he looks like the guy from "The Burbs." Pablo>you Is it too hard to think pablo could lead off and start in LF? I'd talk him as a leadoff man every once in a while but he's not much of a threat to draw a walk and I want no part of him in the OF especially with Erstad (a pretty good OF defender) on the 25 man roster.
-
Ozuna picks up the 2 out RBI single. 2-1 Sox. Oh god the announcers are starting up the White Sox OF talk. CUE THE IGNORANCE!!! Erstad singles to CF.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) So is Hall going to play center so they can get his bat into the lineup? He can kill the ball. Yeah, they're going to take advantage of his athleticism and make him the starting CF. Graffinino is taking over duties at 3B, Hardy at SS, Weeks at 2B and Fielder at 1B. The Brewers corner the market on young, studly, black position players.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:03 PM) If the Brewers wonder why they always stink, they should first look to their theme song. It is awful. Wow. No kidding, that's just embarrassing.

MacDougal is wreckin' b****es. Picks up 2 Ks that inning including Estrada to end the inning.
-
MacDougal relieves Buehrle after 3 IP. Bill Hall leads off the inning with a line shot right at Ozuna in LF.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) is this on mlb tv? Only available on Gameday audio. Crede had a 2 out single but was stranded at 1st. So still tied at 1 going to the bottom of the 4th.

QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) This list is a joke, don't worry. There's no chance in hell Billy King is the third best GM in all of sports, nor that Kevin McHale is the best. The second I saw McHale atop that list yesterday I stopped reading.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) Bill Hall hit a monster shot off of Burls. 1-1 I f***ing love Bill Hall. Brady Clark hits into an inning ending DP.

Iguchi draws the walk. Uribe to the plate. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:19 PM) It's awesome. You're going to love it. I had it on '05 mainly for Braves games that aren't on TBS and I really enjoyed it then but took a pass last season. I can't wait to download mosaic when it's available on opening day. Too cool.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) Really good to see. BTW, after watching the Rockies for 3 days, and reading about the prospects in the system, I am ready to jump on the wagon.... There are some real fun young teams in the NL right now. My second team has always been the Braves who are always fun to follow plus you have the Brewers, Rockies and Diamondbacks all teams with real good young players. It's going to be a real good season to have MLB.tv. 2 quick outs in this inning. Iguchi is hitting near the end of the order after AJ.
-
Out of character for Buehrle, he is working quickly. Mark K's Weeks. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) its the brewers not much to discuss You're underselling this up and coming Brewers lineup, they're a pretty fun team to watch. Quick 1-2-3 inning for Mark.

JD hits into a 6-4-3 DP.
-
It's not a 620 AM broadcast. I really don't know who the hell these guys are.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) When is the actual game? Is it now? Yes and for whatever reason it is not Uecker doing the game. Ozuna is leading off against Suppon. Single for Pablo past Graffinino.

QUOTE(Balance @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) So, I need a little help. I have a touch of color-blindness, so I probably see things a little differently than others might. But isn't the scoreboard blue in real life? And the outfield wall, isn't that green? That's how it looks to me, anyway. And yet, I still manage to dress myself without any egregious errors.... The walls are blue and the scoreboard is black in real life.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) Just a question, but what is stopping someone or anyone from getting DirecTV if they really wanted this package or the NFL package? What does cable have over DirecTV? The only thing I can figure out is On Demand. Now my friend had condo pointed in the wrong direction, so he was unable to install a dish and receive the signal, but other than that what are the reasons for not getting DirecTV if you want the NFL or MLB package? 1.) Where you're living you can't have a dish (apartment, condo, dorm) 2.) You have a package deal with internet and cable. 3.) You have a multi year contract with the cable company. 4.) There are certain channels that you can only get on cable. 5.) You don't want a dish or you just prefer cable to DirectTV.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) im not sure Bob Uecker does the spring training. Its Buehrle vs. Suppan. hit. fly ball. caught. I was listening to the Brewers game in my car on Saturday and it was in fact Uecker doing the broadcast.

I'm not sure who's supposed to pitch today but since they played a B game this morning and this game is on the road I'm sure it will be a good amount of youngsters. I'm pretty sick today which means I'm just kind of laying around feeling sorry for myself, I'll give some updates as the game goes on. Now that I think about it this is probably the Brewers broadcast so anyone in the Chicago Land area that can pick up 620 AM on their radio should be able to listen to the Sox today. It's always fun listening to Bob Uecker.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) No, in fact I think he might miss some games, and then Fields comes up and impresses. Yeah I'm thinking the opposite of that initial post as well. I see Joe giving KW a little more tangible evidence as to why he should be dealt. Reduced power numbers, same lame batter's eye and some time missed do to the back ailment.

The Mighty MJD had a pretty good take on this over at Deadspin, it all revolves around a quote from Bud Selig that I would describe as f***tardian. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...1&cset=true http://deadspin.com/sports/baseball/bud-se...hing-241380.php http://www.sportsfrog.com/2007/03/bud_seli...ectv_basbal.php

As far as I know they're not breaking any laws by signing this deal, I don't want a government agency stepping in to stop a deal that is not unlawful just because I don't like it. Otherwise they should have stopped the NFL from signing the exact same deal with DirecTV. Other than the MLB's Antitrust exempt status this deal is in no way different from the NFL's and they did nothing about that. If they want to do something they should think about taking away MLB's Antitrust exemption since they've proven over the years that they certainly don't deserve to hold it.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 08:33 AM) Neal Cotts got traded to the Cubs FWIW... In a trade that most would agree was for unequal value at that.
