QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) OT, but anyone hear Toby Hall talk about the Sosa corked bat today? I didn't realize he was the catcher at the time, and he claimed "For the good of baseball" he tried to get rid of the bat before anyone saw it. Ugh, why would you even mention that? I actually like Toby Hall but that's just retarded on his part. -

I have the TV muted because I have no use for Kermit and Johnny Cakes so I have no idea what they're saying about Rich Hill. Just remember though this guy is 27 years old and pulled a Freddy Garcia with the timing of his good outings last year. The guy has 1 pitch (the curve) and he can only throw that for a strike around 50% of the time. -

Brian Anderson leading things off. -
Plus Sterling is under contract with NBC and if it's up to me I'd much rather work along side Bob Costas than Chris Berman.

QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 04:28 PM) I'm sure A-Rod would never ever ever approve a trade to the White Sox. The South Side of Chicago is not a destination for anyone. I'm sure A-Rod has good enough taste to avoid the South Side. So you just switch it up every year huh?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 07:21 PM) Dag nab it, I figured if we would sign anyone to a fat contract next year in FA it would be Michael Young. The Rangers held a $4M team option for the '08 season, if they're about to give him $15M a year to keep him around for the next 6 years then I doubt they would have had much trouble paying him $4M to stick around for 2008. The soonest he would have hit free agency would have been after the '08 season.

The only pictures today are of Juan Uribe and Pedro Serrano.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) We have zero proof of this. And it's not like he could get away from playing them because they have SUCKED? That wouldn't fit though I guess. If they are good, they play. If they suck, they don't. It's hard to have proof when I don't know the man personally, it's called speculation and deduction from what we do know, it's basically all we can go on. And I've debated the second part up and down for the past year and a half, I'm really not in the mood to get into it again. If you'd like you can google site:soxtalk Kalapse Guillen and you should get some good answers to that. And if the sucky players didn't play then I'm pretty sure Mackowiak would have been play LF last year.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) Don't you mean Tracey? No, it was Garland at home on a Sunday.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) If Ozzie is ripping them publicly, he must have seen things behind the scenes that would be cause for concern on both Anderson and Bmac--something that affected their playing more than just some Freddy and some smoke. Not that he should. He should keep it private. Yet vets like AJ, Buehrle, Konerko, Thome, and Dye don't seem to mind or think he's out of line. They seem more amused by Ozzie when reporters give them Ozzie quotes, than think he's out of line. Why because his classy, veteran players refuse to speak out against their manager? How would that work out for Thome or Konerko? Maybe it's because they have two things Ozzie doesn't, class and Humility.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:50 PM) We're concerned that Erstad will be our starting CF. Maybe if his name was Bríañ Añdersón..... It's sad because it's true. I could give two s***s about Brian Anderson's feelings really, he's a tough guy and can seemingly handle himself just fine. It's the f***ing hypocrisy that bothers me. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) Like how ARod would have refused a trade to Chicago due to his dislike of Ozzie. Because Ozzie felt the need to pop off about something that had NOTHING to do with him.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) Why does this board and a lot of Sox fans in general have to take every single comment Ozzie says and completely overreact to it?? The only thing I take from this comment is maybe Brandon should have been more concerned with talking with guys like Burls instead of hanging onto a minor league buddy for nights on the town with their newfound success. It seems like Brandon was the type of player that never wanted to listen to what he superiors had to say, and was always on the one track mind of wanting to be the rotation. Even with the whining when they left him off the playoff roster, which was probaby when these tendancies started for BMac. Ohh well, wish him the best. Some of you are worried if BA is gonna be insulted by this comment, I personally would like to give the kid more credit than that, but appearantly we have a bunch of fans that think he is mentally soft or something. It has nothing to do with Brian Anderson's feelings or mental capacity it has to do with an unfair bias Guillen seems to hold against certain players, specifically the youngsters.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) I don't see where what anything McCarthy said should be offensive. Guys that are 22 or 23 don't hang out with guys who are 30-35. Almost everytime someone leaves the Sox someone from the White Sox eventually slams that player in the press. Its really getting old. Most "experts" agree with you. They don't think his act is suited for long-term success. I've probably got the wrong name but was it Brian McRae who called out Ozzie for his managerial style, saying when it does end it's going to end badly? I remember hearing the quote and just laughing. So great.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) No way.....he very much prefers veteran players. He reminds me so much of Dusty Baker in that sense, it's scary.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) Ironic he says this, but he says that Podsednik will have his starting spot no matter what. The man is completely delusional. I'm just wondering, can anyone think of a single young player that Ozzie has gotten behind not out of necessity? He basically had no choice with Jenks. I know this team hasn't had a lot of rookies but does it say something when Ozzie refuses to back his inexperienced youngsters?
-
It's kind of sad that the fans of the team can't even be surprised by anything that asshat says anymore.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 05:50 AM) are you retarded /lights crack pipe

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) Wrong, BA had already switched to 32 before Hall was signed. Exactly. I believe it was a superstitious move more than anything, he wore #32 in the minors but switched to #44 in the bigs and failed miserably. Why not go back to what has worked for you in the past.
-
Yeah, he was officially s*** canned about 2 weeks ago. It's a damn shame really.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) I'm looking at you, big man. You and your stupid 100 walks a year! Stop cloggin' up those bases! Dusty would be so proud.
