  1. It's not necessarily Podsednik himself but when the White Sox have a semi-capable leadoff hitter, no matter the name they tend to play better. You can pretty much say this for most winning teams no matter who their leadoff hitter is as long as they're getting on base. I could only imagine how productive this lineup could be if they had a leadoff hitter with a .360+ OBP.
  2. No, just keep using Marcelle. It's a great font and never ever gets old.

    Films

QUOTE(Scwible @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) Dunno if anyone mentioned this yet but I really don't want to run back though and look but The Prestige is one kick ass movie and since it just came out on DVD i recommend it to all. Definitely was one of the few movies that I wanted to go back and watch again once i got out of the movie theater. I thought it was outstanding as well. Christian Bale really is the best actor going right now IMO. It was a good change of pace film from a lot of the crap I've been watching lately, I'll definitely be picking it up first opportunity I get.
  4. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Atleast he is out of that piss and puke and back into black not that I have anything against the A's, just that Frank looked like s*** nvmd...you spelled it wrong for 2 seconds and i screamed You are imagining things.
  5. Wow. Is it just me or is Valentin even sexier than last year?
  6. And we have the first flurries of the day in the North West burbs. It's not much but you can tell it's only the start of things to come.
  7. That's Eduardo Perez being photographed and David Aardsma yawning to the side incase anyone didn't know. What's with all the pictures of Aardsma anyway? There's been like 6 of him and a total of 4 for the rest of the young pitchers on the team.
  8. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) Okay, great. Why I'm asking is that I know the 350k stream works pretty well (at least, if that's the same speed as last year -- I got it for the last month of 2006, and it's a little fuzzy when I put it on the tv, but good enough for my purposes). I'm worried that 700k might give me a lot of buffering on my home connection, which would annoy the hell out of me. But if I can choose to just go with the 350k/400k connection there, no problem. Thanks a lot for the info. Yeah, if you're running a slow connection at your house and trying to stream the 700K feel you're probably going to run into major problems especially with the buffering. The normal 400K (which I believe is what they'll be streaming at this season) should be work for you just fine though.
  9. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) Do you mean that the regular MLB.tv picture is inconsistent, or that 'downshifting' hurts the picture? I know the regular MLB.tv quality isn't perfect, but in one of the two places I'll watch, it's probably the best I can expect to stream. Right now the only video available to watch is streaming at either 350K or 400K, when my internet connection is running strong and fast the picture looks pretty damn good with no buffering and a consistently good picture. When my connection slows or I'm on a slow network connection I get a lot of buffering and the picture tends to pixelate a bit. I don't know about the 700K yet because there really isn't any video that's streaming at that rate right now but if you're planning on watching the regular MLB.tv stream of 350K on a slow connection your likely going to run into a good amount of buffering and pixelation but still a watchable picture.
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) Riddle me this: If you buy MLB.tv premium, can you use the regular MLB.tv stream if the connection somewhere is too slow? Not with any kind of consistent picture quality. Also according to ESPN.com the first White Sox Spring Training game on February 28th will be aired on MLB.tv which is outstanding news.
  11. There were a few problems I saw when watching one of the videos on the game's site, not only are the walls green at the cell but the scoreboard is looking pretty blue, this could just be a blur effect because a blue scoreboard would be a pretty major screwup regarding the asthetics of the site. The jersey Uribe is wearing is just a joke I don't know how they could screw that up atleast they had Joe Crede wearing the high socks in one of the screenshots though they had Jermaine Dye charging hard for a basehit in the right center field gap and coming up firing, something he just doesn't do. Overall though the game looks pretty damn good.
  12. It looks like Rotoworld actually had 2 real good write-ups on the subject Can't say I disagree with any of it. This really could end up hurting Jim Thome next season.
  13. Pretty good, it certainly kept me interested throughout. I'm glad they were able to rebound so well after having a few below average episodes.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 11:46 AM) Ever wanted to see Pablo in CF? Maybe some Terrero? Pods? I assume Terrro would be the backup plan for CF with him making the team out of spring training as the 4th OF. That should be fun seeing as how he's terrible and all. I've watched most all of his 40 ABs from last season now and it's funny to here how the announcers talked about him, taking shots at him during every AB, wondering aloud why he's even on the big league roster and then presenting him with a Bronx cheer when after 32 AB he finally picks up his first extra base hit of the season. You think Brian Anderson looked clueless at the plate last season just wait until you get a look at Luis Terrero.
  15. So lets just say for a second that Erstad does make the team as the everyday starter in CF and Brian Anderson is sent to AAA to start the season. Who the hell plays CF when an injury plagued Erstad needs a day off or tweaks something requiring a week of rest? Anderson surely can't be recalled every time Erstad needs to sit so what's the plan out there? Ozzie can say Mack will not be seeing any time in CF this year all he wants but if he's going to be demoting the only other passable CF on this team for an injury plagued 33 year old, I don't see what other options he's leaving himself here.
  16. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 11:26 AM) Next thing you know he'll be out of town, like McCarthy. And with that, the White Sox future in the outfield will take a huge hit and the Chris Young trade will loom even larger than before. If Brian Anderson isn't a future starter for this team like the coaching staff originally thought then there have been some major f***ups personnel wise over the past few years.

    The Office

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 07:06 AM) Im kind of curious about what time of the year it is supposed to be on the show. Roy's excuse that he couldnt go out with Pam to the bar for happy hour was that his brother "ate some water on the jet ski" and they needed to get trashed. Jet Ski's in the middle of the winter? Was it just a ridiculous Roy excuse? Not quite. The actual quote: "My brother just unloaded the jet skis and kinda took a bath . . . so we're gonna go get hammered" So Kenny (Roy's brother) was upset about getting so little in return for his jet skis which would explain your questioning of the weather and I guess would kind of explain the trashing of the bar though that was completely over the top on both Roy and Kenny's part.
  18. According to ESPN Ronald McClain is LT's older brother making this all the more worse.
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) thank you for this bump, and horrible name change what in the hell are you thinking I take offense to this.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) Marcelle Script and Swashes. Kalapse knows all about it. This is true.
  21. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) personally i would rather have cintron in there than an uribe who hits .232. Cintron is probably a better contact hitter but much like Uribe can't take a walk and has basically no power which is Uribe's strong point. The defense on the other hand is where Uribe really takes it, night and day between the 2. Seeing as how SS is one of the top 2 defensive positions on the field, I don't see why anyone would want Cintron playing there everyday.
  22. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) either way i think uribe needs better than a .250 average let alone a .232 average to keep his job this year. big year for uribe's future with the sox IMO. Seeing as how there's no realistic middle infield replacements out there for the Sox, I don't see how this could possibly be the case.
