The Astros have rules in place regarding the roof, given the temperature and overall weather conditions as of gametime the roof is supposed to be open. MLB controls the roof during the playoffs and they are following the Astros rules.

He had elbow problems when he was in the Angel's minor league system. He had a screw inserted into his elbow while in their system, it's one of the reasons he was placed on waivers. He's throwing 100mph with the screw so it can't be hindering him all that much.
