Gooch's face looks messed up. Overall I'm not a big fan of this.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) OK Great! Alienate him from his teammates and make him out to be a totally evil person! Are you aware of the fact that the best HB in the NFL (LaDainian Tomlinson) held out until 1 week before the regular season started? He obviously deserves however total public embarrasment and to be harrassed every second he is alive. You do know they embarrass and haze rookies right? Especially high first round picks and even more so to those that holdout. They also usually make rookies pay for everything seeing how they got a nice signing bonus. The Bears players will most likely haze him and go through the usually rookie routine. Patrick Ramsey was taped to the uprights and drenched in water when he reported to camp after his holdout. This will be nothing out of the ordinary. You seriously have to get off Cedric Benson's nuts.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) so let me get this straight.....the twins claimed him....that means he didnt clear right? if the twins claimed him, doesnt texas have to either "dump" him on the twins, or retract him from waivers? or had soriano already cleared? if he had already cleared, why isnt kenny talkin to texas also??? The Twins claimed Alfonso Soriano. Out of the all the teams that claimed him the Twins have the worst record and since the American league gets first dibs on Soriano all National league teams would then be eliminated. Since the Twins claimed Soriano the Rangers can do a few things. 1.) Retract him from waivers meaing he would not be able to be traded. 2.) Dump him on the Twins, with the Twins eating all of his salary. 3.) The Rangers and Twins can negotiate a trade that would send Soriano to the the Twins for players that a.) are not on the 40 man roster b.) players whom have already cleared waivers c.) players on the 40 that they feel would clear waivers (meaning putting them on waivers and if they clear, they can then be traded to Texas) The Twins have exclusive rights to Soriano right now, they are the only team that can trade him since they were the team with the worst record to claim him. The White Sox can not trade for Soriano.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Yep, that's it, thx man. They sound pretty interesting, what disk should I check out? They're a fairly new band, as of right now you'd only be able to find maybe 2 CDs of theirs. One would be "Pistols at dawn" which I think only has 6 songs on it, one track being "Hardcore Days & Softcore Nights" which was on the Jaguar commercial but that track is also on "I sold Gold" which is technically their first real CD. "Pistols at Dawn" has Who Wanna Rock? on it which is an absolutely great track, which is not found on "I sold Gold" I suggest you check out "I Sold Gold" which is an excellent CD. The lead singer has that bit of Ozzie in his voice which is awesome, some songs you'll hear him slip out of it and feature something completely different. The song you heard on the Jaguar commercial isn't even their best song, so if you liked that, most likely you'll like their other stuff.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Who made the song that's in a lot of the new Jaguar tv commercials? The vocals sorta-kinda sound like Ozzie Osbourne, but the music is kinda popish, almost dancy. I think the one line says: "don't ever ask me where I go". Anyone? It's Aqueduct - "Hardcore Days & Softcore Nights". It's a damn good song. Aqueduct is a pretty good band.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) Radke is a very good pitcher. Lohse is decent as a 3rd starter and Silva is pretty good. They have the best Starting Pitching of any team in competition for the wild card. Um, no. Lohse is a #5 and Silva is their #3 BTW. Twins - A's - Indians - Yankees Santana - Zito - Westbrook- Johnson Radke - Harden - Sabathia - Mussina Silva - Haren - Lee - Leiter Mays - Saarloos - Millwood - Wright Lohse - Blanton - Elarton - Chacon Oakland's starting rotation > Minnesota's starting rotation Cleveland's starting rotation > or = Minnesota's starting rotation A's, Indians, Twins starting rotation's >>>>>>>>>>> Yankees starting rotation

Energy in the crowd = Energy on the field

OK, so I was at the game today. I have no voice left, I'm sun burned, my hands are tenderized from clapping, high-fiving and beating the s*** out of the guys I went with after each homerun. That was the most electric and loud crowd I have witnessed since July 2nd, 2003 (Robbie/Carl's first game, Frank's walkoff.) I'm convinced the crowd played a big part in the rally that took place in the 4th inning. The place was absolutely defening after the Gooch homerun and only got louder after the Rowand bomb Johnson was visibly shaken. IMO the players fed off the energy of the crowd during that inning which is what led to 6 consecutive hits, back-to-back-to-back homeruns, 4 total homeruns and 6 runs for the inning. For once the team showed that they can succeed with the fans making a s*** load of noise and totally getting behind them, this was one hell of a game and makes me a lot more optimistic for the rest of the season. -
Our offense is SO bad that we're getting shutdown in games that we're not even participating in. Per Rotoworld

You are forgiven, don't let it happen again.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) We need to make a huge push for Mike Caruso You're a f***ing idiot.
-
QUOTE(RDriesen @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) no offense, but what kw offered the reds was not a "huge push". you arent gonna get anything worth getting if you think thats a huge push What did you hear KW offered? We heard Young, Rogowski and another prospect for Griffey around the break, did you hear anything different?

QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) It's kinda like how Bull Durham held the record for Minor League homers. His name was Crash Davis, he played for the Durham Bulls and he is a fictional character..

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) I don't know what to make of the rumor, but I think the idea that this all started with Soxtalk is downright laughable. Maybe it's silly, but I believe most journalists are halfway competent and halfway honest. Repeating anything from spataro's post is not much better than just making s*** up out of thin air. Micheal Kay also hinted about this rumor back on August 11th. There is 0 chance any of this originated from Soxtalk.

They looked lost against Mike MacDougal for the final 4 outs of the game. I don't know but for some reason I had a feeling the Royals would win today.

A very loud crowd would NOT spark this offense. There I said it. -
There's really noone out there. Ken Griffey Jr. is the most realistic bat for the Sox to pick up. According to reports, KW has made a huge push for Griffey but Linder (majority owner of the Reds) has nixed the trade. There's not much more KW can do on the Jr. front, the ball is in the Reds court now.

QUOTE(Jake @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Mike Caruso was fast. He stole 66 Bases in 6 years in the minors. He stole 34 bases in 3 years in the majors. He stole 22 bases for the Sox in '98 and stole 24 for Bellington in '96. Mike Caruso WAS fast. What's your point?
