  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 07:00 PM) Cue same article in 2001, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, etc. Really, the guy has no choice what to say if he's going to keep his job. It's not like he can tout any of our minor leaguers coming up and making much of a difference, so it's logical enough to say when Beckham/Danks/Viciedo/Keppinger and Floyd are back, they should be a much more competitive team. It's logical to at least believe that Dunn and Konerko will be better than what they've shown. With Flowers, it's more of what you see is what you get... The main problem with this "patience" line is that this is Ventura's SECOND year now. He should have learned something from last year. When you are outgunned from a talent standpoint, sheerly from a comparison of the starting line-ups on a daily basis...then you have to make up for it somehow with execution, hitting the cutoff man, limiting the opposing team's running game, hitting with RISP, advancing runners, bunting, errors across the field (going from 1st in defense to near the bottom), etc. We've been horrible in almost any "eye test" category you could make up, and surely the SABR numbers back that up. That said....how much of it is just a matter of lacking talent or just not being very good vs. lack of preparation/execution/mental mistakes? Broken record Rongey management mouthpiece.
  2. Needed a RH bench bat time to tell Wise goodbye.
  3. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) I'll give Dylan some credit, he's been pitching pretty solidly. Take away his start in Washington and his ERA is 2.33 Axe keeps pitching like this, he might make some interesting trade bait. Dylan salary is cheap..............Floyd at 9 Mil will be 1st to go.
  4. Sox need to change the Sunday family slogan to No defense and plenty of walks.
  5. How is that a strike to PK?
  6. Where is all this great talent Sox have developed according to Hawk and Buddy Bell? It's like Te'o girlfriend because it does not exist.
  7. Hawk said base on balls biting Sox in the arse.
  8. Should of got 3 of 4 in this series. Heath needs to go to AAA after this game is over.
  9. Heath continues the walkathon.
  10. Rios not a good effort today.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 03:46 PM) Game reminds me a lot of last Sunday's game. This defense is really awful this season. Does not makes fans to want to spend money to come back to see that crap.
  12. The defense is so F'N bad.
  13. Let Price off the hook today.
  14. Broken record for this team.
  15. The only time Tyler does not swing and miss.............oh my
  16. Hope we can get to Price for staying in.
  17. Looking like battle of the pens.
  18. Rays living off hr's down RF line this series.
  19. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) Flowers worse than karkovice right now At least with Karko you could bet a $100 he would hit a HR at Tiger Stadium during the series. Karkovice career average in Detroit .337 with 10 homers and 24 RBIs in 95 at-bats. That's one RBI for every 3.95 at-bats. His career batting average in Tiger Stadium is 111 points over his career average of .226.
