  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) No I still think Bush is up there at #1 with the "fool me once" gaffe. That one might never be topped in my lifetime. It'd be great to hear what some of the presidents of the past said like Andrew Jackson. He would've been a riot to hear.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) and he K's to end it. was cool when they showed the close up of kazmir and he was shaking his head after alexei fouled off about five in a row. yeah, most of what he was throwing were fast balls. I think the strikeout was the first slider of the sequence. Throw different pitches if you want to strike someone out.
  3. I didn't realize Vazquez is only 2 games above .500. I know he's been on a lot of sucky teams but for the amount of attention he has gotten over his career, only being 2 games above isn't very good.
  4. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) Willie Harris is quite possibly my favorite active player. I have no reason why but I have just always been a fan of his. But how in the hell does he have 12 homers this year? Is the NL really that bad? Worked on the long ball this off season just like Willie Mays Hayes.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) It does. They do everything right except hit, including managing. Everyone is ready to compare them to the late 20s Yankees and yet they just aren't that great as a unit. Like Tampa, for example. Who's ready to compare them to the '27 Yankees?
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) "You may run like Mays, but you hit like s***". They do everything right except hit. I don't have confidence in them for s***. And that doesn't really make any sense.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) 1/2 game out. oh have some faith in the team with the best record in baseball.
  8. I'd rather have Jenks or Thornton in instead of Ramirez.
  9. I keep all of my old baseball gloves. I also have an old Easton bat that's 29 inches, 26 ounces, it was fun to use.
  10. Willie has a career high 10 homers this year. Only 17 in his career I believe. Congrats to him, and the game winning run in the World Series.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 12:28 AM) With Duchsherer and Gallagher out, I don't even want to think about who the A's will start. Also, how's it looking for the Twins getting Halladay? If the Jays do not skip anyone in the rotation with an off day, I think he's scheduled to pitch the first game. It doesn't look like Burnett will pitch against them.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 11:24 PM) Ugh, awful start to the road trip from the Sox standpoint. Yeah, we really need the Angels to take 3 of 4 because we'll be lucky if the Mariners can get 1 of 3, and hopefully the A's can get 1 of 4, then hope for the Blue Jays to get 2 of 3.
  13. "This long roadtrip starts with one of the most impressive wins of the year." Or the pathetic attempt at scoring, fielding, and executing in general by the Angels.
  14. I know this is way early, but if they put up numbers such as 9-5, 10-4, or better on this road trip, we are going to be in trouble.
  15. sox stuff varies on my mood and I don't wear something that they lost in since I rarely go to games.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) executive of the year if you ask me It'll go to the Rays of course.
  17. I'd rather have Thigpen keep his record, but I wouldn't mind seeing 4 saves this weekend for K-Rod.
  18. the reason why I'm a Sox fan now. I should've done a top 50 list, he'd be in my top 5 easily.
