  1. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) Sorry for the strong words. It just really get on my nerves when people feel the need to destroy and bring down anything that they don't believe in. (Not saying you). This whole thread reminds me of the old days. I think FlaJim said something about cw. Well, it seems like he's here to me. This is so much like the Reagan thread it's scary. I didn't mean to offend you and I should've use green on my post. I can see where you would get mad.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) As long as he left JC out of it.. I think God will forgive him. haha probably
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) No offense WT.. but eye's got a point here. Some take this extremely serious.. can't there just be some respect for them and leave the "who gives a s***" comments from, at least, this thread..? I know some people take this very seriously and that's ok. Some don't and that's ok too. But I wasn't trying to make this a war in here, we're all on the same team here. We're all with God. I take Martin Luther's perspective like I said earlier, and I hope people respect that like I respect the pope. We don't need to swear at each other. That's just plain pathetic. and I agree with Kid Gleason there, he did use a few strong swear words in there.
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Ok, I'll bite. Pope Benedict is known as one of the largest advocates for traditional Catholic dogmatic teaching. This man is extremelly popular amongst the Cardinals and is admired for his intellegence, piety, kindness and so on. Could he have been elected by the Cardinals to guide the church during a time of much strife and interpretation, or was it, he was elected Holy Father and head of the Catholic Church to serve as "a stop gap in the vatican until one of the younger guys gets some experience under him?" I'm done playing now. Don't even bother responding. I see where you're coming from. The new pope is obviously deserving to be pope. Who isn't when elected pope. Reports on this pope seem to say he's a real nice guy and it is a reward to him. I wouldn't be surprised if they got a younger guy whenever this pope dies either.
  5. Yeah I'd agree that nicknames are weaker, but a lot of cool nick names are already taken. Hopefully people can make up some others again.
  6. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Don't need one? You mean you don't rate one. Sounds like pontiff envy to me. lol oh yes, I'm very envious I'm not Catholic.
  7. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) So why even post that in this thread? It makes no f***ing sense to me why you would do that. I don't get off on the NFL Draft, but you won't see me posting in that thread just to let you all know that I don't care about it. I stay away. It is beyond me why people that don't "get" something insist on letting everyone know it. Just like anytime a NASCAR thread is begun and here come the "Nascar isn't a sport...Drivers aren't athletes..." bulls***! Have some f***ing class and keep your mouth shut! I was joking with you. I'm one of the 60 million or however many that follow Martin Luther. If Lutheran's had a pope I wouldn't expect you to care either. But we don't need one and we live just fine.
  8. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) Thank you. I was wondering what you were thinking. :rolly I was thinking, how long would it take to get a reaction from you, and I was wrong, I thought it was going to be 3 minutes, not 4.
  9. I'm glad you guys are excited and it's good they finally elected someone. But it's not that exciting to me.
  10. Karl Indonesia for William Tell
  11. It should bug Robinson, right now they're playing good ball. They need to get props. We don't need to hear how the Yankees are going to solve their problems.
  12. I've noticed we've been playing like the Twins this year. We're coming from behind and winning the 1 run game. Keep it up guys.
  13. What do you guys think Frank wants more? 500 home runs and the Hall of Fame, or a World Series ring? I think it's a pretty tough question myself.
  14. I thought Pods played center last year, I'm probably wrong though.
  15. I'd like him to stay in the lineup and maybe if Rowand continues to slump, he will be in the lineup every day. Dye isn't doing too hot either as of now.
  16. I like CBS because I get to see the Chiefs nearly every weekend. I could only watch them on prime time games when NBC had it.
  17. Truely sad. I remember him playing for the Saints and Panthers. He died of cancer that he's had recently. He truly had the heart of a champion. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2040015
  18. Good to see him back. Let's go.
  19. I'd say that's probably as close as it's been in years for Chicago being a Sox town. But it still probably was a Cubs town then. I wouldn't know because I would've been like 7 and since I don't live in Chicago I didn't really know who was more popular between the Cubs and White Sox.
  20. Griffey really has dropped off the face of the earth, but not his salary.
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) It is also still a superior song. NIN and Manson fans, don't get in a tizzy, I like both of those bands, I just think Gabriel did a better job with a message. William, I wasn't addressing you exactly, so much as all of the people that have never heard some REALLY big hits from back then. And yes, I am sure many of the songs you have heard but are just not familiar with the bands and titles. But there have been a few listed that have seriously shocked me for people to have NOT heard or to know the name of. "Come On Eileen" is a song where he says the title almost every single line. I'll list the songs I am surprised got the "never heard of it" if you would like. Trust me though, some of these songs are better to be forgotten. Though "Come On Eilleen" is a cool song... I understand where are you are coming from. The thing that makes me mad the most is songs getting remade and many kids just think they're brand new.
  22. Come on Sox fans. Get to the game, I would if I was in Chicago.
  23. Jose, only for the sole reason he bats lefty now.
  24. Yep Harris is in just as I thought. Although I'm sure a lot of people thought that too.
