  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Nice long AB by Brent. Whatever the result, it's good AB. It's not a good pitcher we are trying to run up the pitch count. It's a guy they should crush.
  2. f***ing bunting, nothing like wasting strike or generating outs because your manager is confused about the league he is in and his personnel.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) He's been in a grove hittif better than .300 since may1 and he's hit righties better than lefties. handness. >>>>>>> silly stats according to Ozzie.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Some woman in the stands "Come on Adam Dunn, you strike out more than Thome!". Does this lady know who she is talking to? You heckle him for his lack of power, not for something he has done his entire life (strike out). Nothing like the raspy shrill of a drunk who wants to contribute her wisdom to the masses.
  5. The don't stop now boys 4 times an inning is grating.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) It's a joke that Lillibridge isn't playing every game against LHP. An automatic out is getting the most AB's on this team.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) If he is really a great player, it shouldn't affect him this much. I would think if anything, the appendectomy had more of an effect. The appendectomy was a while ago.
  8. QUOTE (typewritermender @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) Sorry, that's ridiculous. Humber is clearly our 6th starter. He was a fill-in for Peavy, who's back now, and pitching great (granted it's only 2 starts). Who else are we gonna relegate to the pen? Ejax? Danks? We shouldn't keep up a 6-man rotation...that's not allowing our best pitchers enough starts. And we shouldn't trade a good pitcher JUST so that a guy who's been dumped by a bunch of teams and happens to have had a few good starts can be in our rotation. It's always good to have a backup plan. Humber is our backup plan, not the anchor of our rotation. MAYBE if he had a perfect record with a few complete game shutouts. He hasn't been LIGHTS OUT. He's been GOOD. Certainly better than expected. But he's the odd man out. No question. He has a 3.18 ERA with a .95 WHIP. So whether or not you believe he is the 6th starter or the odd man out, his numbers in real live games are evidence enough that he deserves more chances. There are plenty of examples of people who have roved around a bit before they found a home and got better.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) Are we facing a lefty? Morels automatically stuck in a platoon role now that a lefty is here. You know its easier on rookies if they only face guys who throw from the other side. Catfish Hunter told me that once.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) Cleveland announcers suggested Alexei wasn't really hit in the first, just was acting They should worry more about why ned flanders is banging on drums at their home games.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) Of course, Juan hits it to the one spot where the runner can't score. The only way Pierre gets off the team is if he walks into JRs office, and bricks on his desk.
  12. 2nd inning, more national league baseball. Guillen gets rewarded because Eric Cooper is blind.
  13. So Balta would you be surprised if Morel gets sent down when Teahan gets better.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) The problem is, unless they get ridiiculously hot they aren't going to get much better and KW and JR know it. The disasterous start has really f***ed this team. From the standings to the pocket book.
  15. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) Well when you can't score for the life of you, that's why you bunt Then Konerko reminds people its the AL and you don't bunt your leadoff hitter in the 1st inning to play for a single run. Randomly throwing away outs is not how a struggling offense gets better.
  16. f***ing NL 2.0 and his stupid bunting of people to play for 1 run in the 1st. Ramirez nearly gets killed. So sick of Guillen and his attempts at making an AL ballclub play NL baseball.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) What was the reason for skipping over Humber to give him another day of rest? Maybe Ozzie thinks he is a rookie.
  18. QUOTE (bobryansson @ May 19, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) Protecting Morel from tough pitchers. Showcasing McPhearson so we can trade for a new leadoff hitter. Showcasing. LOL If anyone for any reason really wanted Dallas, they just have to wait until he is sent back down and just grab him off waivers.
  19. You wonder why we can't develop s*** for position players from the minors. This is the same crap he has done for years. Play good, get rewarded with a nice crisp benching. Play bad, and you will rot out there until you take it into the field so we can demote you. Yet his Marlins BFF gets to suck out in LF and gets starts. Its time to get a new manager.
  20. I find it funny that people want to trade away Beckham because they believe he was ruined here by our inability to develop him, yet they want more young talent in return. Like the cycle isn't going to repeat itself.
  21. This game was lost because the bulls couldn't hit a shot to save their lives.
  22. Reggie Miller when he was on deep space nine.
  23. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 18, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) this You leave him alone. I for one find it refreshing that he can balance posting here, writing for the suntimes, tweeting, playing madden with oney. It's hard to multitask.
  24. I wonder if Reggie has matching pom-poms to go with his heat panties.
