  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) I'm not saying it's right. Managers' ideas are to put the tying run on second with one out. Would they have walked Dunn? That also would go against the book, putting the winning run on first base, but let's say they did? Still first and second one out. The idea is you have a good chance to tie. Not saying it's right, but it's the book for the home team many times to do this. This book you speak of, please throw it into the nearest garbage can. Set in on fire, then piss on it's ashes. Ozzie is predictable and the magic 8 ball lies.
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 11:05 PM) Hang this one on Ozzie for pulling Mark, Juan for failing to put glue in his glove AGAIN, and Matt for throwing a flat pitch on a 1 - 2 count to start off the 9th with a double. We can still iron out these kinks and I really think that the 2011 white sox will be special - hopefully this is some of the worst ball we see all year and hopefully we win the next two against the A's. The time to iron out kinks was spring training. These count just as much as the ones in Sept. We have a pretty tough first half and we are not a second half team. So we need to get out to a fast start and need to capitalize on teams with weak offenses or bad teams when we play them. This division has been a pretty tight affair for a few years. We need to beat the teams we should, play 500 against the good teams and kick the s*** out of our division. We can't afford extra outs and we can't keep giving it up.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) It wasn't exactly routine. There was wind taking it towards the stands. You see the ball Suzuki dropped in foul territory? The wind was making the ball drift tonight. Still, there's no freaking excuse for missing that ball. Comparing a fly ball with a high arc to an OF to a straight up foul ball to a catcher is not a good comparison. Every OF makes that catch. That's now 2 drops. Time for Pierre to get his head out of his ass.
  4. Guillen just said that the ball that Pierre dropped wasn't easy because there is a wall near him. Yeah that's some awesome logic there. Lmao
  5. Adam Dunn gets his gloves and his bat. Then watches Ozzie allow the guy wno f***ed up try to right himself. Way to do what's best for the team.
  6. A lefty with a good change up versus the sox. That's not a recipe for offense. Hopefully we can get some good ABs against him.
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 12:37 AM) SO who is our new closer going to be? Do you really think Ozzie is going to pull the plug on Thornton this early. He is a vet. It will take a few more crushing losses to get him to think about it. The first half of this season is kind of brutal from a scheduling standpoint. Losing games that should be won is sickening. Speaking of sickening. Every f***ing year we hear about fundamentals and how ST is going to be different that year. Then these guys get on the field and kick the ball all over, run the bases like they are blind, and then fail in basic baseball. The only reason we do not have a losing record is that the offense has been on a run. Real simple strategy. The brown thing on your non throwing hand is a mitt. It's used to catch the ball. Don't chew on it, wear it as a hat or whatever they are doing with it besides using it as a hand warmer.
  8. Well boys you better win. Because you need to fill seats. f***ing around isn't going to get fans in the seats.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Just a very underwhelming pitcher. Fastball has lost a few mph from his days in Arizona, and he doesn't get a lot of swings and misses on his offspeed pitch. Definitely wish he still wasn't a member of the roster. Mike Jackson= Pena
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:43 PM) The Royals scored 3 runs on seeing eye singles. I wouldn't make much of this game other than the fact that our bullpen needs to stop blowing leads. They also made some outs that were screaming line drives. Pitch better and make sure we don't blow our offensive load in the first inning. And the elf needs to go.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) I just feel like throwing a lefty closer in there has righthanded hitters licking their chops and there are a lot of righthanded hitters out there. That's why I asked if I was a moron or if anybody else shared the same concerns. I remember lots of right handed hitters getting stiffs facing lefty closers like Billy Wagner.
  12. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) Look at Bobby's stats so far this year.....a 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP, and 1.5 K's per inning pitched. You don't think we could use someone putting numbers like that up this season? Plus....my Jenks jersey is worthless now. Put it next to your Shingo jersey.
  13. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:09 PM) If we had Jenks back, we'd be celebrating a W now You are a Royals fan, huh.
  14. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) Part of the problem with the bullpen is having a lefty as the closer. It means you have to carry a guy like Ohman. Huh?
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Yes the games count the same and no one is arguing that. What some of us are taking issue with is condemning our bullpen after four games. Currently there is a command issue with our relievers. Getting into hitters counts constantly is a recipe for problems. You have to figure that they will get better at it.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) That 3-1 pitch actually looked hittable. Totally. I just crushed it on my PS3.
  17. QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) If Sale has trouble getting guys out over the first month and a half or so, I wouldn't mind the org stretching him out and sending him to start the rest of the year in AA or AAA. And exactly what do you want to replace him with. He needs to throw strikes. Let's not demote him to the Barons roster just yet.
  18. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) In games like this, I really wish we still had Bobby Jenks on the roster. Why you want the walk off to be of a comical variety.
  19. We need to score soon or we are getting walked off. Our pen is in no shape to go more than an inning or two without giving it up.
  20. Well the bullpen needs to get their heads out of their rectums.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) Morel's swing seems to be all arms. Mechanics were a bit different last season. He has put together some decent ABs. He is going to have some ABs that make him look like s***. It's the nature of being a rookie. Glad to see that Ozzie's 2 outs always run no matter who is on base is intact.
  22. Well it would be nice if Floyd would get his head out of his ass. His curve should be dancing, he is away from Arizona.
  23. Well how would you feel after your summer jaunt around Europe that your offer was terminated and that your dream job was handed to someone who wanted to start immediately. People are unemployed in droves. You get a firm offer and a good job you take it and run. Congrats on the job. Take it and run.
  24. QUOTE (Saufley @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) Someone needs to teach Ramirez how to bunt. Why? Did I enter an alternate reality where we warped into the NL or its the AL and its 1950. Its the AL teams score runs. Nibbling around for a single run when other teams pile on runs is a recipe for failure. If you want to bunt late in the game for the tying run, then sure go for it. Before the 7th inning now, no reason at all. The Manager is still trying to recreate his Marlin's NL team. Thank God that Kenny at least took away one of his NL capabilities and found a real DH. The first two games showed a lot of excellent hitting. Hitting to all fields and driving the ball. Hopefully that approach is what we see most of the season. I hope that the "strategy" is taken out of Guillens hands this year.
