  1. I look forward to next season, when the Nick Swisher that is good shows up. I mean, this can't be the finished product that we traded for.
  2. QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) Anderson isn't a major league hitter. His swing is much too long. He'll have to cut it down or be relegated to defensive replacement status. Since the defensive replacement outfielder doesn't really exist anymore, he'll be out of the big leagues next year. I had high hopes for Brian, but he's just not going to make it. When Brian leaves here his long swing will be remedied by the first hitting coach that he meets.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 05:29 PM) And it's 4-2 now. Unreal Jenks...shades of 2006 It should be 4-1. That play at 3rd should of been made.
  4. Our offense is to baseball as The Bears offense is to football.
  5. Why exactly are we trying to steal 3rd with 1 out. Someone needs to replace Ozzie's magic 8 ball.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 05:23 PM) Firewalls ? Sorry I am writing an incident report in one window on a failed firewall, and typing in this on another. Fireworks.
  7. Guillen with his usual template. Man on first, 2 outs. Send him. Everyone including Southpaw can pick Guillen's pocket when it comes to strategy.
  8. Ah a single line drive. Maybe the hitters should take note, that in fact people can score without the firewalls going off.
  9. Fastball, crushed. That should end the fastballs to our hitters.
  10. Verlander is throwing a lot of changeups to our hitters. He must of read the scouting report.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 05:07 PM) It's likely those games would never be played. If they were played, you'd have to give the advantage to the team that has a reason to win instead of a bunch of guys who have their bags packed for the next morning. I doubt if this thing gets settled till the last weekend.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 05:05 PM) It's why I was hoping this game would be postponed. Both teams can't be mentally ready to play after waiting around so much for two days. Do you really think that this team, that puckers and swings harder and harder when the pressure is applied, would fare better waiting till after the season to play this game.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 05:04 PM) Our hitters aren't catching up to the Verlander fastball so far. This is a strange game, as everyone seems to be in slow motion. Our hitters must believe that only a ball that flies over the fence can drive a runner in from second.
  14. Okay, we have men on. Can someone for the love of god drive them in.
  15. They should change the definition of a strike. Nipples to the knees doesnt exist anymore. It should state, a strike is a ball that is caught and moved between the middle thigh and the belt with 14 inches near the white plate.
  16. I wonder if Stone can break down Catfish hunter, because Hawk has a skip in his record that requires him to mention him at least once in a broadcast.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 04:45 PM) Our offense is just sad. It's not just that they're not scoring runs, but they don't even come close to making solid contact. Why is Juan Uribe swinging at first pitch curve after a long AB by Swisher that resulted in a walk? The offense is in full April mode. The pitching has to throw shutouts now to win.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) Jr. is going to have a huge game. So what time is first pitch scheduled for now? The box score says top of the 2nd. But both offenses haven't figured that the game has started yet.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) The White Sox continue to let a good player in Brian Anderson slip away. As a matter of fact, Ozzie, he can bat against right handers too. Well Ozzie can't get his righty/lefty think going. Remember what arm you choose to use to hit with predetermines your worth on the team.
  20. Thank God that Bud in his infinite wisdom decided to give the Cubbies a home game instead of making them play at a neutral spot in Atlanta and allowing a team in tight race an opportunity not to put them in the hole for the rest of the season.
