8/7 Sox v Tigers, 7:11, WCIU

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) OC has 4 extra base hits in his last 30 games. That's not going to make him money on the market! Well maybe if he went back to hitting the ball to right like he did when he was an Angel. When he pulls the ball on the ground, he is worthless. -

Actually Uribe had some pretty good ABs tonight. That one was a horses*** one. But you know, this offense has had so many opportunities to score runs and we piss it away. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) What plus-plus pitches does he have now? If you listen to people on this board and in the organzation, you would think he has an arm like Josh Beckett. His curve is plus, and his moving fastball is plus. His problem is not with the the type of pitch its command. He literally just chucks the ball and has no clue where it goes. When he can command his fastball and keep the ball down, he can be filthy. His problem is he either has pucker issues, or just doesnt care. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) This seems like 2006 where every offspeed pitch he throws is just begging to be crushed. I can't believe Ozzie is leaving him in to die right now. Someone needs to sit his goofy ass down and have a man talk. I am thinking about our playoff rotation. And I was wondering how quickly could you get warm in the middle innings if we need you in the playoffs. Oh, you thought you were starting. Well I took a look at your stuff and I am impressed. Then I look at the box score and then resist the urge to be stupid. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) Wonder if we could dump him on Baltimore or Seattle in the off season. Some team with gullible management. The mets would jump on him. Their GM would love him. -

Vaz is quickly approaching the 5 ERA point. 15 million dollars for that. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Hate Alexei getting thrown out in that situation but guess it was a worth a shot. Took an on the money throw. If he didn't do it every single game in the same situation it might be a bit more successful. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) What a shocker, a 5 run game for Vazquez (isn't that right DAllen?) Rested bullpen, and we keep Tin Can on the mound so he can give up more runs. Nice plan. -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) If I were scouting the Sox, I'd conclude two things to a moral certainty: (1) Guillen will run Ramirez and Cabrera anyone from first base with 2 outs. (2) Bobby Jenks will, when ahead 0-2, throw a curve ball. Fixed -

2 outs, man on first. Guillen always always calls for the steal. Its probably the most telegraphed Guillen move in baseball. -

So Ken Griffey Jr. showed up for the first game and drove in some runs. Then settled in and decided to suck offensively. Anytime your HOF self can manage to put some good contact on the ball great. -

People I don't want to see out of the lineup. Ramirez, Quentin and Dye. Mix and match the rest of the DH types to get Griffey in. Taking one of those guys out screws our offense up. -

Dear Hawk. Minor isn't Cy Young. Stop acting like we have to get around him like he is halladay or something. If we stop trying to park everything, and make better decisions with our ABs we could score a lot of runs on him. -

Javy needs to man up eventually in this pennant race. We can't have Mr. Talented strike out the side one inning, then give up a 3 spot the next. Stone up. -

Need better ABs when you have men in scoring position. Striking out with men in scoring positiion is terrible. Make some contact for the love of god. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) Have at it... Moose Skowron interviews Mark before the game.

QUOTE (Phil McKrevice @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) Exactly why Jr. has no business fielding balls. Kenny's big flaw is going after guys year after year, even after their prime. Jr's bat is a nice addition, but his defense is center is fugly. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) can't believe we're getting handled by one of the s***iest pitchers in the league. When you take pitches down the cock for strikes, pull outside pitches on the ground with men on, and swing at s*** that bounces near the plate you have a chance at making the worst of pitchers look like Cy Young. -

Attention sox hitters. The bag of crap with goggles on the mound, is named Nate Robertson. He sucks. Please forget whatever sillyness that has been told to you, he sucks. Please stop swinging at crap out of the zone, please stop taking pitches down the middle. Act like you have a plan and crush this guy.
