QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) OK. Now I know it sucks to score all our runs on HR's, but AJ was not trying to hit that one out, he just caught it correctly. The first swing was a home run cut. The second swing was right on the freakin money. You cant fault that. -

AJ's first swing with men on 2nd and 3rd with less than two outs is a home run cut. And AJ hits one with his second home run cut. -

These wooden sticks that the players bring up to the plate. They should hold the small end and swing the big end at the ball. Problem fixed. Now the runs will start. -

Remember how offended that assclown Sosa got a few years back when Valentin hit a dong and then did the Sosa hop, then the double tap gang sign that Sosa does. Baker was all bent out of shape also. The minute he pulls that jump and dance routine, someone on our team should sit an admire their homer. I mean really just be happy with their homer. Like its game seven in the world series. Throw the helmet flying around third. The whole team should come out to home plate and do the walk off dance. When the Rangers get all upset, then say. Well Sammy likes to celebrate, why cant we. -
Now wait, you mean you can hit against Joe Borowski. I thought he was Paplebon, and Cy Young wrapped up into one superbeing.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) I find it difficult to imagine this being economically feasible considering the conditions, and that totally neglects the fire risk issues. The only way this would work, is if it was powered by the quest for oil. I could of sworn that Siberia had some untapped oil underneath it. If we made a push into Siberia with the help of Russia/and the US that could be the financial model that could make it feasible.

QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) let's sue their ass The ony thing that would be funnier than how bad that show is, is if they in their infinite wisdom decided to see who owned soxtalk.com to see if they could build a complementary website to match their craptacular show. Maybe they could send a request to Jason for the domain, so he can laugh, curse them, and then scan and post it for our viewing pleasure.

MARK BUEHRLE HAS PITCHED A NO-HITTER!

QUOTE(46bearsd @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) wait guys according to skip bayless it was the worst no hitter ever Well I am sure that Kotex boy and his no talented asshat can both go to hell. -
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) Can you blame the guy? Would it be better if he said. I like showing up at the park, and chasing butterflies in the outfield before the game. I even brought a seat cushion to make sure my backside is safe from the splinters of the bench. I asked Ozzie if I could just lay down on the bench and take a snooze during the game, he cursed me so I guess thats okay. Maybe Brian should bring a camera to the game, and then call over Brandon and see if Ozzie would pose with them in a picture.

QUOTE(bardsroom attendant @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) Also, can we say it now...there was no reason for Buehrls not to be starting on Opening Day...I know it's a minor thing...hell, maybe it spurred him on a bit. That and the hit on the forearm in Oakland. Maybe the best things that could have happened to him. This is revisionist history. Marks last year stats, pretty much people wanted to know if he was figured out. So saying he should of started game one, outside of just the fact that he started opening day all the time. There was no stats based decision on why he should. $$$$$ is Marks motivation. That and pride. Not some forearm shiver by a baseball. -

I watched this from the Bar at Tuscany in Oakbrook. Mark looked great. Those cutters at the end were so nasty. Thats the key for Mark, run that cutter in. Congrats to Mark, and congrats to the Sox for a great game. It was nerve racking watching them hold on to that 1-0 lead, glad to see Dye made them pay. Our pitching has been great this year. -
We should sign this kid. He is grinder in waiting. He is white, probably not that good at baseball all parts of the formula for being a grinder. Probably can slam himself into a wall, or hit a nice classic 4-3 ground out. Plus the kid is a ninja, and can probably throw a flying star at the first baseman before he catches the ball. Think about the hit and run possibilities. This is exactly what we need on offense right now, a minigrinder ninja. He lookes like Aaron Rowand and Erstad had a lab created grinder child.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) It's like that a lot during extras at Wrigley Well duh, the bar has been closed since the 7th inning. The drunks start to sober up and look at a crappy park and bad baseball. Why stay again.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) Another thing to point as, as for Walker's blame percentage here... this team has a lot of offensive talent, and have during his years here (2005-2007). And yet, look at how amazingly inconsistent they've been. Red hot the first half of 2006, and for the occasional few weeks in 2005. But very hot and cold. That is the hallmark of a talented but unguided bunch. The most damning thing for me, is when you see quotes in the paper of Walk tinkering. Rowand hits .320 in the month of May and is tearing it up in 05. He had a nice short compact swing. Looking good, hitting a lot of line drives. Then he and Walk work on getting around on the ball and drive it more. They want more power. This happens in San Diego. Rowand starts to get exposed like all of our lift and pull hitters to low and away. By the end of the year, he is a none factor because he cannot recognize low and away. Carlos Lee is on a 28 game hitting streak, driving in runs hitting doubles at a great point. He and Walk decide to change his swing to get more power. It comes back to haunt the sox in August, when Carlos starts taking long looping swings striking out against the twins with men on. KW gets verbal in the paper and how bad Carlos's approach is. AJ and his approach and how its changed. This team will hit a lot of homers, they are very very very streaky. THey might go off for a month, where they will just crush teams. But when the big series comes up, against good and medicore pitching and their butts pucker up and they press. Their swing gets long again, and they cannot adjust. Look at what has happened to the Yankees in the playoffs for an example of power teams with home run approaches versus good pitchin g. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) Hey come on everyone. That Tejeda guy has some of the best stuff I've see around. Sometimes you have to just tip your cap. /Hawk impersonation Hawk turned a 2 pitch pitcher, into a 7 pitch pitcher who is unhittable. The Cy Youngification of bad pitchers by Hawk and DJ is sad. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) Hey guess what. The playoffs in 2005 were not the warmest nights of the year, but we hit just fine. We hit better than the other team did. Greg you are f***ED here, resign or be fired. Game 2 was f***ing freezing with rain and horrible conditions. Konerko looked pretty good there.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) You know if you get done and we are winning, you arent allowed to watch the rest of the game. If it meant them winning 100 games this year, the TV would be on something else. But remember, its too cold for the hitters to hit. Its not me, its the freezing unbearable cold.

Hawk on AM1000 was saying that someone is going to pay when the sox bats get hot. That teams should look out. LMAO

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 09:28 AM) Nobody is more misinformed about guns than the media. They actually said something along the lines of "He used a .22, that's a very powerful gun." They also harp "semi-auto" over and over again. What handgun ISN'T semi-auto? I remember this from my ballistics class. The instructor put 2 guns side by side. One was this pussy looking .22, and the other was a Glock 9mm. He then asked which one will you rather not get shot with. Everyone looked and said, the 9mm. More power. The instructor said he would rather get a round from a 9mm. Its a high velocity round, and a lot of times runs right through you. While the .22 is a soft round, and has a tendency to ricochet through the body creating a lot of secondary damage. This is the round where you see someone get shot in shoulder, and the bullet winds up in the liver. People think its a glorified BB gun, when it can and will kill you.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) I remember posting a poll around the ASG last year asking if people prefer the .320 slap hitter that AJ was or if they would like to give up some of the avg for more power. The overwhelming response was to have AJ stay as is, a .300+ hitter spraying the ball around the field. I should have sent him the results of the poll. Well that jackass North had him on his show, constantly bothering him about his power. He was obsessed with it. Home run splits for AJ 2001 7 dongs 2002 6 dongs .300 BA 2003 11 dongs .311 BA 2004 11 dongs .272BA He joins the sox 2005 18 dongs .257BA 2006 16 dongs .295BA(his overall BA is skewed by his overly hot first half) 2007 0 dongs .187BA
