Ozzie needs to adjust his management of pitchers
southsideirish71 replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Rongey is beyond pathetic, he is the epitome of what I have come to hate about Sox fans this year. Just remember everything is going to be alright because they are the Sox and everything always turns out alright. Last year Ozzie kept El Duque in the rotation while bmac backed him up. It took till the sox were just a few games up and the season in doubt for him to put bmac back in the rotation. For whatever reason Ozzie thinks that giving the ball every 5 days to Vaz and Garcia is a good idea. Freddys fastball is still poor, and Vaz has no nuts. His stubborness to make a change when its needed may give us more problems than we think. The twins are almost the same distance to us, as we are to the Tigers. Does Rongey actually watch the whitesox. He is almost confused that people want Vazquez pulled after 6 inning. Rongey "But Vazquez is cruising, why would you take him out" Soxfan "Because he is a mental midget and blows up the minute something small happens, like a bird gets too close to him, someone farts too loud, or a fan stands up behind homeplate." He would of given up 9 runs in the first inning if the guy who was swinging the red shirt was behind home plate tonight. Too much of a distraction. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) He's also under the impression Anderson wouldn't have caught the 6th inning blooper Mackowiak missed. Mackowiak just pulled up at the end. I saw him do the same thing in the Boston series that lead to a big inning. Rongey thinks Vazquez pitched well. LOL -

QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) I don't think you can blame Ozzie for tonight. Javy had been absolutely dominating the Tigers all night, and it was only the 6th inning. It seems that Javy just implodes when he is in his big jams. Thats why we can blame Ozzie. There is a track record here. This is not the first time the third time through the lineup he gets rocked. Ozzie needs to stop with his bravado and his my pitcher needs to go x innings. If a guy detonates like clockwork after the 5th inning. have the bullpen up and ready to go the minute the first pitch of the 5th inning is thrown. -

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) i would agree with you, except the fact that his HR #s are profoundly down, which was the knock on him coming into this year...its amazing to me his inability to put hitters away consistently when hes up in the count...something tells me hes making good enough pitches in the hitters counts, but for some reason hes getting beat in pitchers counts...i think hes to blame for some of it, but personally i think some of it for vazquez has been plain bad luck....i know ill get ripped for saying that, but thats what i think....now a guy like freddy is a whole different story The only bad luck is the fact that he cant get enough spin on his breaking pitches and leaves them either floating or hanging. The other bad luck is the fact that he folds like a deck of cards when one little thing goes his way. Thats a pitcher I want on the mound in the playoffs. Bmac needs to get into the rotation. Last year he has a 1.59 ERA down the stretch. If Vaz had 1/4 of Bmacs stones he would be a 20 game winner. Baseball is filled with guys with great stuff, and a 10 cent head. -

Rongey is now doing his best Ozzie apologist impersonation. A caller asks why Mackowiak was in CF because its a big field. Then Rongey starts going....right hander pitching, right hander pitching. Is this a platoon we have, I thought we had a starting CF. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) Yep, seems like you have a good amount of evidence to back this claim up too. From what I've seen from people who I consider Sox fans, they're worried about the starting pitching more than anything. Our biggest problem is starting pitching. Raise your hand, when Mack let the ball drop in center did you think that Javier was going to go Hiroshima on us. If you dont have your hand up, then didnt watch the game, have blind faith based on nothing in his past, or were drinking. -

Ozzie needs to stop with the matchups based on what hand god has blessed a certain batter with. Time and Time again Mackowiaks poor reads and jumps have let ball after ball drop in front of him. And the stellar offense that we got out of Mack tonight, one infield single. Thank you very much. Play BA or if you dont trust him, trade for a CF. Having a corner outfielder in centerfield has cost us time and time again. Yet we keep seeing the same thing over and over like a bad movie. Vazquez needs a shrink. He hangs pitch after pitch and he keeps shaking off AJ on 2 strike counts. He is so desperate to throw his hanging breaking pitches he cannot contain himself. Everyone knew that he was going to implode on a grand scale. Put bmac in the rotation, even at his worst he has a bigger sack than no balls. Now tomorrow I dont want to see Widger. AJ is coming off of the allstar break and is rested. If we put Widger in, we are basically messing up. Ozzie has got to stop with the Tuscon tryout lineups. Play the f***ing real team against teams in first place, stop with the I will sub this guy and that guy to get a rest. Rest these guys against hte Royals not against the Tigers. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) It was a slider. Jenks sucks btw. A slider moves right to left with some tilt to it. When you throw it badly it flattens out. When you throw a hanging curve, it sits up like a batting practice tee. I can recognize a slider and a curveball. -

QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) you can only hang a slider 4 or 5 times before that happens that was his curveball. His slider is the pitch he has been throwing well with 2 strikes. -

Keep throwing those hanging curveballs meathead. Everytime you threw one tonight you got it hit hard. But you keep it in your head to throw it over and over. And he throws another one. You cannot learn from your mistakes. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) No. He is not THAT much faster than Mack. ANd Mack got a solid jump. We know you dont like Anderson, but if you think that they have the same range and are the same defenders then I suggest an eye doctor. -

He has hung 2 cureballs to Irod. Yet I bet he would throw another one to him. Dumb. -
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) I work for a church and would like to do something to our new computers. Basically, when we get a new computer I install Windows XP Pro and a whole bunch of other programs. What I would like to do is create a Hard Drive with 3 partitions. One for the OS, one for data (my documents, ect...), and one for a back up of the OS. Basically, the third would be an exact "perfect" image that I could roll back to if we encounter any problems. DO you guys happen to know of any free software that would do this? I should note: i knwo how to partition it. I just dont know of any software to create a disk image I can revert to. You are better off purchasing a hard drive and then a USB enclosure and using that to backup your hard drive. More times than not if your hard drive fails all of your partitions will be unaccessable. Its better to get it off to another media anyway. You can pickup a USB enclosure from 19 dollars to 40 depending on the model and make. In Chicago check out Microcenter or Fry's for it. To make a perfect image you want to use a bitstream imager such as Symantecs Ghost or you can use something like DD. If you just want to backup your fields you can use the built in backup software with Microsoft as it was written by Veritas in the first place.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) I'll take Mackowiak's defense in LF over Pods in LF or Mackowiak in CF. Mackowiak is not a CF. As a corner OF though his defensive is pretty good. Mack just doesnt have the range for CF. Not his fault. I would like to see Anderson in CF, and Mack move over to LF. -

In about one more inning I would like to see Mack sitting on the bench and our good defensive CF in the game. It scares me in a 1-0 game having a corner OF in center. Especially this large CF. -

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Javy is working faster?? That 2-2 pitch was hung...stop that. His curve this year has been his biggest problem. He isnt getting on top of the pitch and he leaves it hanging. At least he is throwing more sliders on 2 strikes, than his curve. When he is ontop of it, it bites down and is a good K pitch. When he leaves it up, it gets hit hard.
