QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) Yea, a career OPS+ of 85. Another "eh" trade. I guess these guys are "eh" then. Last years OPS+ numbers of guys that were similiar. Pods OPS+ 86 Uribe OPS+ 85 AJ OPS+ 90 Then we have to look at frame of reference. Is Alex being asked to replace those guys. No. Here are the OPS+ numbers for the group of guys he is asking to replace. Timo Perez OPS+ 48 Willie Harris OPS+ 72 Jeff Blumm OPS+ 33 -

I like Gload, I was one of the people that wanted him up last year. However When we needed a backup first baseman last year more than anything. Ozzie and KW decided to use Timo Perez at one point, Dye at another. Now Ross's injury would keep him from play the OF, however he could still play 1st. He was also hitting at a .350 clip in AAA at the point and we needed offense, yet he still was down in the minors. Now if that doesnt speak volumes on how this is going to go nothing does. Ross and/or Borchard are gone. -

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) Umm, they need to do that in reverse order. Multitasking Rex. They can do it simultaneously. Have the one bus sending the freaks out the door to prison, and new recruits with new rules coming in. Have the defrocking and excommunication happen as part of their intake procedure at the jail. -

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/03/08...s.ap/index.html Now I know why my cousins shudder when I mention that I was an altar boy They need to allow married priests to replenish the ranks, and then defrock, excommunicate, and then hand over to authorities the freaks who touch kids. This broken record of abuse needs to stop. -

From rotoworld earlier this year Think about how much our bench has improved from last year. Timo and Willie have been replaced with Alex Cintron and Mack. WOW, great job Kenny. -

I think Borchard gets moved now. Someone(the padres who tried to get him late last year) will want him. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) Sweeney crushed a HR to right. 3-1 Sox. Good to see some power out of Sweeney. Hopefully his wrists are better this year. That kid has a pretty swing. He is one of my favorite prospects. -

Nice to see the offense is hitting on all cylinders. Glad Ozzie told them to get it in gear, but then again this is the vaunted Colorado Rockies pitching staff.. I will be happy when they start hitting and scoring runs. Hopefully it will all click soon. -
What a wierd way to die.

On the comedy note, Boston Gammons just said that he thinks if healthy the Tiggers can win 85 games. LOL Back to our regulary non broadcasted ST game.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Think he said anything about a 2 run bomb? I bet you that Ozzie let out a F bomb in the dugout after watching that, even if this is ST. We won the B game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course its against our minor leaguers. But a win is a win.

Randolph gave up a dong. LOL Here is your complementary 2005 Chicago White Sox World Champion tee shirt and we will also validate your parking if you get out by 5pm.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) Say goodbye, Randolph. Ozzie made the mound visit, he probably told him we can call the hotel to have your bags packed for you if you walk another guy.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) That's Logic 101, kids. Well done, chort. Then you get the guys at Baseball prospectus who come up with crap like this 2006 Rookies: 2003 first-round pick Brian Anderson is lined up to take over center field from the departed Aaron Rowand, and while he’s nowhere near the defensive whiz that Rowand is, he should be an immediate doppelganger of Rowand at the plate, and PECOTA agrees. If for some reason he fails, Jerry Owens could be waiting in the wings. Now where did BP get their goofy thoughts from? Some of their research is ok, and some of their research is a million miles off. Have they ever seen BA play defense, or are they just using some abacus to tell them how BA plays.

Sox vs. Diamondbacks (3/4, 1:05 P.M. CT)

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Yeah, I think it'll take a little longer than a half week...let's just hope our guys know themselves well enough to know what to do to get into their rhythms. I'll worry when we get to April. Hell, we even got beaten up by the Brew Crew up in Milwaukee right before the season started last year. Let's just hope our guys know what to do. Sure did last year. This is all I care about over the next few weeks. I am not worried about the records. Brian Anderson The only one from the starters that it matters how he does is Anderson. He needs to work with Dye and Pods so they can get their collective communication together. He also needs to get some ABs and get a good feel before the grind starts. Jenks Everyone knows he can throw 100mph. He needs to work more on pitch placement, pitching up in the zone. And the big huge thing is locating his curve. If he can throw that for a strike goodnight hitters. Bmac He needs innings, and to work on some touch up stuff. 2nd lefty/crapola Someone needs to seperate themselves from the pack. The rest of the guys are vets. They just need to get through this healthy, get their ABs or innings pitched. Work on a few items and then get ready. I have gone to ST for years. If you are looking for the sox to win every game or play fluidly, wait until the season starts. Because in ST you get some ugly games, some ugly swings, and some ugly pitching. -

The sad thing is the guy with the best tools to be the lefty out of the pen is Munoz. His curve is absolutely sick. He could dominate lefties if he threw strikes and was agressive. Hopefully he mans up and pitches well the rest of the spring. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 03:21 PM) Oh I know. I don't care if we go 0 for our first 13. THey don't count and don't matter. Just saying that we will never look particularly great under Ozzie in ST. Don't matter to me at all. Actually when the starters were in there last year they looked decent, it was when the scrubs would come in they would look bad. This year both of them arent looking too good. But then again its a few days into it. If we are close to the end of ST and the hitters and defense still look like this thats a different story then. -

QUOTE(Reddy @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) i think we're all getting a bit too worried. 4th game. spring training. means what? nuthin! I am waiting for the offense to show. Watching the scrubs get the s*** kicked out of them is one thing, watching our hitters not do anything is another. -
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) I'm guessing the video didn't broadcast the defendents face, and the only remnants of him were background sounds--which would have to be corroborated by the victim. Since she refused to watch the video, no validation was given. Reasonable doubt was created. Everyone probably knew he was guilty. It just wasn't possible to convict him on the evidence provided. The judge in this case is a meathead. He used to be a public defender, what a shock. Any judge who thinks its a requirement in a rape trial to have the victim watch the attack should be taken off the bench. But because he is a public defender, he will get a great rating from the bar association come next election. He is doing some goofy things in the criminal court. This is just one of them.
