Giolito has shortened his arm swing before delivering a pitch, Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune reports. When Giolito removes his right hand from the glove during his delivery, he does not extend his arm out wide; it stays closer to his ear. The right-hander described the change as cleaner and more efficient. "It's more direct to my good firing position," he said. "I feel more athletic. You can compare it to how an infielder throws a baseball. It just happened naturally over the offseason and it feels really good, so I'm going with it." Regardless of the arm swing, the key for the 6-foot-7 Giolito, who walked an AL-high 90 batters last year, is repeating his mechanics. We'll get to see the new motion on display Thursday, when he makes his first spring start against the Mariners. -

You do this every year. If you had it your way Jermaine Dye would be patrolling RF still and Garland would be pitching in the game tonight. Pay more attention to the front of the jersey than the back. Colome just got here. No reason to be attatched. -

How fast a guy works has zero with how effective a pitcher is. Remember Freddy Garcia. He wasn't exactly Mark Buerhle out there. -

The more you watch his videos the more you will laugh. The one on hitting lessons is comical. -

This is what he sees when he looks at the team. That pile gets bigger no matter if people show up, we win, or we dont. Its a piggy bank that accumulates wealth no matter how good the investment is. -

We could just have our pitchers watch this. About as effective as tall and fall. -

He can still be the eyes and ears to Reinsdorf and bring smiles and laughs to the kids. Picture it with me. Coop Southpaw. -

Robles looks good. I want to see Robert come up and run around the bases like this. -

“Robin is a really good manager,” said team captain Paul Konerko, who was considered for the job before the Sox offered it to Ventura. “He’s good at this. But I also think that Robin is one of those guys who -- in the right way -- he knows baseball is not everything. I respect that, because he can do this. He can probably do this for as long as he wants. But I don’t think he identifies who he is with baseball. So if he doesn’t want to do it, that’s fine.” Players rarely say, this guy fucked me up. I had to go outside and fix this with my own coach. But thanks for helping me with my emotions. I mean really do you think that lots of players on the Sox thought Robin was a really good manager. Sometimes they just say things for the press. -

I heard the same interview. Take a look at his arm climb and motion and compare it to last year. Mental issues didnt all of a sudden change that to a short arm action. -

He is a human trackman. He doesnt need to pay attention to those silicon diodes. His eye tells him that the pitcher needs to drop velocity, throw strikes with that pitch that straightens out. Then throw a cutter. -

Maybe in the offseason he can find his old coach to get him back to what he did that was successful. When he was acquired I saw tape of him pitching against Atlanta. That guy was electric. Then coop happened. And we have this. I think Cooper has a specific type of guy he can fix. We however have not acquired that guy since Thornton or Loaiza. -

If this was the Astros, they would of worked on spin rate with rapsado and trackman and worked on getting him locked in on pitches that work. But here with the White Sox its what random old school shit Cooper comes up with and an ornery look. -

Its time for Cooper to go. However that isnt going to happen. The success for this year is a guy who went back to a previous coach and reworked his arm climb on his own. Tall and fall, sacrificing velocity, and throwing cutters and giving up your breaking pitches is not a formula for success anymore. -

The stuff is fine. He however leaves pitches up to much and when you leave a slider up that doesnt have a lot speed differential between it and your fastball you speed up the hands and barrel up the ball for the batter. You can pitch up, however your secondary pitches need to be down. Sending him down is silly. Let him work through this here. Having him find his mojo against AAAA hitters doesnt do anything. He needs to get his location better and attack. Its a rebuild, fix this in 2019. -
I like Bleday. The hit stroke has been there. Great baseball acumen. And his power stroke should only grow as he gets stronger.. Not a big fan of drafting right handed 1B types.1
