Young reached levels of 40 2B, 25 HR, and 30 SB. Very exciting.

Lance got hit around again tonight. Will take his 3rd loss against 1 win as his ERA moves to 4.58. Anyone else worried that our top pick in the draft is struggling in high-A ball after being through the college system?

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) uh oh, watching the Red/Braves game, Griffey rounded 2nd funny and is going out of the game. Sprained foot. Day-to-day.

My favorite of all-time was the Nextel commercial where the two dudes where dancing to Salt-N-Pepa because the Nextel products gave them so much free time.

Happy bday old man.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) The only reason he has one error is because he hasn't seen anywhere near as much time at that position... Ok..then ratio it. Konerko at 1B - E every 179 innings Gload at 1B - E every 301 innings And you could argue that ratio goes up with experience.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 04:38 AM) But, he made that error against KC, so he has to suck. Turns out that was his first error ever at first base in the majors.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) I just thought of something else. If you tell me what kind of car you want, and where you're located, I can find you a good, no-monkeybusiness dealer in your area. The thing is, I'm not looking right at this moment, but definitely within the year. The area I'll be in is wherever employment takes me. I am young, never purchased a car before, and never watched my Dad go through this process. I mainly don't want to get taken advantage of and at the same time don't want to be overzealous.

How do you: A. Know how much under the sticker to shoot for? B. Come off like you are in control of the situation? C. Translate haggling to monthly lease price?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) Gload is 29, was he like 24 when he started in the minors? Also he had an up and down season until September of last year, then he had a good September. The guy has been a minor league free agent multiple times, don't you think if anyone saw what some people see in Gload, he would have been a mainstay on a major league roster years ago? Well from age 21-24 he was a minor leaguer then got a chance with the Cubs at 24. Spent 25-26 in Chicago/Colorado's systems and called up at age 26. Then age 27 at Charlotte and 28 with the Sox. I think the reason Gload doesn't play regularly is that he lacks the power most starting 1B posess. And his defense isn't outstanding like Crede who also lacks offensive power at a power position, but 1B defense isn't nearly as important as 3B defense. If you have no power and you're stuck behind guys like Helton and Konerko, you probably aren't going to start if you can't play the outfield, which he can't.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 07:59 AM) If he were that good, he wouldn't have bounced around the minors for almost 10 years before getting a chance, and having one good month at the major league level. He played in the minors for 4 years before getting a chance. He had 3-4 good months here with us. They weren't complete obviously but around 20 games.
-
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 05:24 AM) Gload should shut his lip and prove something at the big league level. How many AB's before you prove yourself? His career numbers in over 300 AB's look better than most of our team's.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) haha when I first read that, I thought it was resigning as in leaving. Yeah that should be hyphenated.

Count 36 pitches through 4? Solid.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) Because he's been able to play every single infield position. You can't find many MLB caliber players who can play all infield positions. You can find plenty of guys who could do what Timo is doing. Also, it's not like we gave up a lot to get Blum. Neither are starters and you can argue that Blum is more valuable as a bench player but he is terrible offensively. Everyone here seems to think we'd better off with him starting yet Crede still remains a better option with two herniated discs.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) You're bias though. What happened to the Timo sig? I spent weeks working on that masterpiece and now you just disgard it? I'm hurt. It won't upload for some reason...
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) Says who? Blum is extremely versatile, while someone like Timo is easily replaceable. .206/.254/.286 Why does Blum get a pass?
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Geoff Blum has a hit or more in 9 of his last 12 games. Why so much hate for this man from everyone? He's just about the least of our problems. Timo > Blum offensively. 'Nuff said.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) there are no trades...please stop worrying yourself. There was little/no movement in baseball for all teams. 5 minutes. I'm so desperate.

Damn I love that Crede one.
