  1. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) A game thread with ice cream, diarreah, male enhancement, and with a White Sox winner at the end. What more could you ask? hawt girlz in the stands.
  2. QUOTE(wallyburger @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) No arm. Wrong.
  3. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) The game should be replayed tonight on CSN, so you should get your chance to see it. Do you know what time by chance?
  4. JD is almost always right with his information. I appreciate you sharing what you hear.
  5. Well, there goes my first ballot argument. Palmeiro suspended.
  6. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) BTW, my Top 10: 1. Rogers Hornsby 2. Nap Lajoie 3. Jackie Robinson 4. Charlie Gehringer 5. Roberto Alomar 6. Eddie Collins 7. Bobby Doerr 8. Joe Morgan 9. Ryne Sandberg 10. Bill Mazeroski I also think Hornsby deserves top honors while most give it to Morgan. My list would include Craig Biggio though.
  7. Don't know how much any of you value Steve Stone's opinion but tonight he called Palmeiro a "slam dunk first ballot HOF'er".
  8. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) While I'm not sure I agree with BB's statement, Burnett isn't really that good. I could see BMac being at least as good or better in a couple years. It's within reason IMO. I think BMac being better at some point is surely within reason, but '07 will probably be his first year as a full time starter in the bigs. I don't expect it to be smooth sailing immediately for McCarthy while Burnett will have another full year to improve upon his game. To guarantee BMac will be better than AJB as soon as he accepts his projected role seems a bit iffy.
  9. The thing about no one else making a huge splash makes me upset that we didn't improve ourselves even more above the competition rather than stick with what we've got. But yeah, LaMar's demand was outragous.
  10. I snuck into the clubhouse and modified Willie's hat on behalf of the board. Here's a digital picture.

    Aubrey Huff

    QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) Yet you would all agree, I bet, that starting pitching is the reason we have the best record in baseball. Well did you know the starting pitching that got us here will all be here next year? If we can add Huff (30/100 guy from the left side) without losing any of them, I'd call it a wise moving heading into the playoffs. We will always have offseasons to address pitching needs in the future. Please stop worrying about how awesome McCarthy will be in 2007 and whether or not Billy Beane would approve of our methods.
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) I dunno... Can you handle facing an All-Star/former top ex-Sox prospect 16 times a year for the next 10 years? What is the probability of this actually happening? Quite small I'd say. I hope KW doesn't go through scenarios like this when evaluating trades.
  13. I wonder how the possible acquisition would affect Konerko. He would quickly realize this is his last year as a White Sox.
  14. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) I don't like a two-month rental of AJ Burnett, either, since McCarthy will be better than Burnett in 2007 What makes you say this? It seems like a very subjective comment to me. The only way I could see it happening is if Burnett is injured.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) 3) Both are white Aren't you brownish?
  16. Did you know Joe Crede has no middle name? True story.
  17. Twins lose, we get largest lead of the year at 13.5.
  18. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) yeah and what is he doing this year. Look Tracey, Sweeny, and another prospect however Chuck LaMar has a history of asking for the moon. Huff can't play defense because he is a BUTCHER with the glove. Sweeny is the number 3 prospect on the sox however to ask for Anderson, McCarthy, and maybe young is BS. Look it has to be a fair deal for both sides however all LaMar is doing is asking for the moon. It took one of the best prospects in the nation to net Victor Zambrano, who isn't nearly the player Aubrey Huff is. I shudder to think what LaMar wants for a Huff/Baez combo.
  19. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) my bad i meant willie and ozuna, no need to worry about timo I'm just joking with you.
  20. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) if we got mack we wouldnt need ozuna and timo As long as there is need for a clutch hit, we will always need a Timo.
  21. How many times have we heard this guys name since that doubleheader against the Cubs?
