You can't deny that consistency. It's not just a coincidence that he puts up almost the exact same offensive numbers in about 40 games in one batting slot. But, argue on if you must.
I started a thread this past weekend saying Gload should start at 1B next year and Konerko should be traded for help in other departments.
EDIT: Gload starting IF AND ONLY IF we got a top notch pitcher and possibly help at 3B. I don't want him starting just to clear some payroll without using it elsewhere.
I completely agree with you on everything. The biggest plus about Grilli is his attitude. He showed lots of emotion tonight. He got pissed at every mistake he made, which I like to see. He's into the game and cares about his performance. I like it a hell of a lot better than Garland's ho-hum attitude.
To the defense of his ERA, he really hasn't faced any pushovers yet. Cleveland, Oakland, Texas, and Anaheim is a tough debut. Especially with three of those on the road. I'm pleased with the 2-1 record.
The lineup I spoke of at the beginning of this thread is tearing it up tonight. Add Big Frank, along with a FA pitcher and 3B, and I think it is still very solid.
