an old thread
Someone posted some information regarding Oct. 26th as the day the Sox won the 05 WS, but also as a date significant to both Kid Gleason and Charles Comiskey. Can someone throw that info. and link back up?, thx.

Parking in Chinatown for Sox games
QUOTE(Damen @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) Probably because by the time the redline stops at Chinatown, there isn't any room left on the train. It's a one stop, 4 minute ride and like I said go early.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo !!
Interesting that the 4th of July is more of a family type, cook out, laid back kind of celebration. Shouldn't that be our huge drunk fest? Instead, St. Patty's and Cinco de Mayo are.

Parking in Chinatown for Sox games
If you get there early and are willing to walk a few block to the red line, you'll find a lot of free parking. It surprises me more people don't do it.

Ozzie ball in a a nutshell
Ozzie gets a lot of criticism around here for his line up shuffles and for putting the 'wrong' hitters in certain situations. I'm a firm believer in what he does. If you show confidence in players, more often then not they will rise to the ocassion. If you treat a player like a last option, he'll peform like one "I have people who can play everywhere: Ozuna, Alex Cintron, Ross Gload and [Rob] Mackowiak,'' Guillen said. "It gives me the opportunity to play guys. People say I rest [regulars] a lot, but I want all my players to have a chance. When these [bench] guys are needed, then they're ready. "To me, everyone is important, from Paul Konerko to Ross Gload to Pablo Ozuna. I always want to have all 25 ready because it's not always going to be Konerko or [Jim] Thome at bat [in a critical time]; it might be Ozuna. I have to keep everyone sharp. In the long run, it will pay off.''

Gamethread 5-2-05 vs. Cleveland Injuns
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) he's a free swinger, but he's also a fantastic fielder. He's not going to stay below .200 for long, he'll warm up. 'Free swinger' is one way of putting it, I have nothing but love for his D.

Gamethread 5-2-05 vs. Cleveland Injuns
Eh, so we split in Cleve. that's like a loss to them. You're not supposed to split a 2 game series at home. I'm over it.

Gamethread 5-2-05 vs. Cleveland Injuns
I'm not gonna pile on, but I've never been a fan of Uribe's offense. Pull up my old posts or ask the guys who would chat during games last year. He rarely seems to have a plan at the plate or even understand the game situation or what is required of him at any particular time. His swing is the same just about every time and nothing about it suggests that he is trying to do anything besides hit the ball as hard as he can hopefully within play and not right at someone. I've always been amazed that hits above .200.

I hate this early start after a night game. We need a gem from Mark to avoid needing the pen.

Booing Jim Thome
I don't understand booing former players in most cases. Did anyone catch Jimmy's post game comments when asked about it? He said it 'brought him some closure'. Translation: f*** this town, it's ON. Look for him to light up the tribe the rest of this year.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
I'm not excusing them booing Jimmy, but I don't understand the booing of former players at all...and it happens everywhere.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 1, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) What im going to take from this game, is the classlessness of Cleveland Indians fans. Booing a player for being forced out by ownership is just plain trashy. He loves Cleveland, he still lives there, he carried your team for years, and is genuinely one of the nicest guys in baseball. Shame on you red neck bastards. Rock, I remember Maggs getting booed and I bet Frank will too.
