  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) There shouldnt be any doubt by now. Even with him being somewhat raw in some areas, the guy flat out is dominant. I think Oden is staying anyway, but I would still draft Durant #1 i'd still take oden.
  2. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 06:30 PM) in the first half, yes, the movement was pretty good. Second half, all that shut down. If pruitt doesn't touch the ball on every possession, the other 4 need to be benched immediately. agreed. and where the hell was warren last night?
  3. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) and can hit a free throw...i would do hack a pruitt allday. yeah it sucks, especially considering he's our most consistent offensive option. i'm surprised more teams don't use a "hack-a-shaun" approach.
  4. chester played with tons of heart last night. no doubt he has his shortcomings as a player but he's tougher than anyone else we got.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) IU>MSU. And it's getting to the point where it is that big. After this game, Illinois basically has a shot at one more quality win and they're not winning in Bloomington. U of I really needs this one, badly. i can agree with that. i interpreted the "do or die" comment as more of a general program shot (jimbo's good at those ) than being in relation to tournament hopes. as it relates to tournament hopes, this game is pretty important, especially considering i give illinois no shot at indiana.
  6. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Do or Die for the Illini tonight????? nah. it's not nearly that dramatic. just because many illinois fans are drama queens doesn't mean the situation is. but it would be a nice win, probably their best win of the year, imo.
  7. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 02:35 AM) This game is really sad. If you're not watching it's Kansas 29, Nebraska 6! And there's 12 minutes gone in the game! i watched that game last saturday, unfortunately.
  8. because the big ten, rightly or wrongly, is generally acknowledged as one of the nation's power conferences. it regularly puts teams in the final four, so it can weather a tough year and not lose anything in the image department. leagues like the mvc do not have that luxury since they have not had the historical success in the tournament that leagues like the big ten have.
  9. hopefully, at this very moment next week the bears will be applying an ass-whipping.
  10. i don't think anyone really thinks iu is "afraid" to go to siu. i just think that the perception of a lot of coaches is that it doesn't do them much good in the long run to go to a place like siu. it's why i expect sampson to get out of it if he can, and a similar reason i don't expect weber to pick up a contract with siu anytime soon. not saying it's right or wrong, it's just how it is.
  11. illinois's guards are just getting dominated right now. purdue 21, illinois 4, 11:22 first half
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) Running his mouth? For the love of God, he was almost certainly just playing around. I'm pretty sure at some point in my life I said, "I'd give my left nut for the Sox to win the Series." And luckily nobody has ever come to collect on that "promise."
  13. i think until you win a bowl game in this millenium you should refrain from calling your program this.
  14. good win for illinois tonight. no doubt one they needed. brutal display of basketball on both accords, though. yeesh.
  15. hawk will love this. i believe erstad is a charter member of the carmine derriere team.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) His recruiting needs to improve, but his last 3 commits (McCamey, Watkins, and Richmond) have shown improvement. Both Watkins and McCamey add much needed athleticism on the perimeter and are potential impact guys. Like I said, the talent level wasn't there for this to be a great team, but there was certainly enough to compete for 3rd in the Big 10. But then you have McBride get suspended for his DUI, Randle having abdominal and now feet problems, Frazier being constantly banged up, Jamar severely spraining his ankle and then losing all of his confidence, Semrau having to redshirt because of an infection his chest. Just ridiculous what this team has gone through this year. That doesn't even take into account Carter missing a game because of injury and Pruitt having bone chips in his hand in addition to the knee injury now. Very few teams are going to have success with that many players in the rotation being injured. good points. my assumption about this year's team was that it would take all of the non-con to find itself, and by the time big ten play rolled around it would have a better identity and be a more solid team. but the injuries kept that from happening, so instead it's happening now. i know people look at injuries as a big excuse, and there's no doubt that's a valid point. but i would challenge any team to lose the key players illinois has lost from a rebuilding team and still have great success.
  17. i'm not to the point yet that i'm really even willing to consider firing weber. frankly, i think at this point calling for his firing or suggesting it's imminent presupposes a lot of things that i don't think are established yet. now there's no doubt that weber has his shortcomings and he needs to be held accountable for those. but in general i still think he's a helluva coach and someone who can get it done here.
  18. hughes to notre dame nice pick up for the irish.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) Pruitt hurt his knee against Wisconsin and Randle has been having problems with his feet. It is possible both play, but Weber said he doesn't think either will. apparently randle is out for the game because of his plantar faciitis. pruitt will play as much as he can but it probably just depends on how he feels.
  20. no doubt. couldn't agree more. i'm not a big "media" conspiracy person but it seems like other young quarterbacks have been given a pass for their mistakes while grossman's been pretty much hammered every time. by the time he's done grossman will own every bears statistical passing record and be regarded as the best quarterback the bears have had outside of luckman.
  21. illinois and wisky on tap in about an hour and a half. would have to give the badgers a huge edge in this one, unless illinois plays better than they have all year.
  22. my dad got me into the sox, which is odd because he's not a big sports fan at all. i rarely remember him (ever?) watching games when i was a kid, but we'd go to a game at the old park at least once every summer. the sox were the first team i really got into. like many of the older fans here i remember watching them on channel 44 back in the day.
  23. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) Ginn headed to the NFL. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?i...ce=NCFHeadlines not a surprise, especially considering he hasn't attended a class since returning from arizona last tuesday. expect pittman to go, too. next year will be the more tradition jim tressel offense with a heavy reliance on beanie. expect that dude to get 25-30 carries a game.
