  1. FO to Dye runner stranded still 2-1 Sox.
  2. Leadoff triple by Hannigan . Infield in GO to Beckham GO to JC 2 down . Runner still at 3rd.
  3. Bruce K's to end the inning.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) Once you get the right teacher, you'll never be afraid to have sox again. I guess my comment didn't get the point across as clearly as yours did judging by joejoe's response to mine.
  5. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) im always afraid of having sox, i feel like im jinxing them (as stupid as that is) i had floyd and danks to start the year, ive since dropped them both and they've pitched better Fear of Sox ?
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) "he should be released" I realize Soxtalk is not one collective voice but you hear so many calls for a youth movement, and when a solid yet unspectacular player like Getz struggles you hear calls for him to be sent down. Just so odd that people can't see his talent.
  7. I don't think that I like the calm rational " stuff happens when you're a mediocre team" crap I'm reading. I have nothing against Linebrink . Everyone has bad days. Can't expect perfection, but didn't he pitch yesterday ? Hasn't he had a bad stretch lately ? Isn't Thorton our setup guy ? Wasn't Poreda well rested ? Can't say I blame those who are pissed off. 1. Lost a game we should have won. 2. Lost a game we should have won to the CUBS ! 3. Questionable call using Linebrink again 4. and extremely questionable leaving him in once he got shelled. I'm one of the calmest guys on this site but in this division winnable games need to be won. Starting pitching has been good lately, bullpen very good all season. Hitting looks better lately. I really think the Sox can take this division easily if Quentin comes back strong post ASB ,we start hitting at home and the pitching continues as it is now.
  8. Zambrano's a Sox fan so we should win today.
  9. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 11:28 PM) I love Steve Stone. He pretty much just took the entire show of Chicago Tribune Live to talk about how awful the Cubs are and how terrible of a GM Hendry is. Frank Thomas was over there laughing too at Stones comments.
  10. Soxtalk seems to be California laid back right now regarding the upcoming series. Maybe it's because we all got our collective hands smacked with a ruler about the quality of posts recently. As usual its fun to be part of the craziness that surrounds this series. We got the Oz and Blackjack thing going on right now in the center ring of this circus but tomorrow the sideshows stop and the games take over. I predict Gordon Beckham has his breakout series , hits his 1st HR and a Cub fan will throw it back on the field and bats .400 for the series (Beckham not the Cub fan). I hope I'm not adding to the "pressure" on the kid . Sox win the series taking 2/3.
  11. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) If he could manage to dump Zito...Brian Sabean would be like the doctor that pawned Bob Wiley off on Dr. Leo Marvin. Sooo... what about bob ?
  12. This thread has a very long shelf life.
  13. Great win. Wish they played this way everyday. Timely hitting, great bullpen. Beckham hitting. BA making a great diving catch. Even Mark hitting a bomb. Was funny to see Thome squaring around to bunt in the 9th before he got the walk which was the eventual winning run with Richard running for him. Hawk came down hard on the Blackjack blog about Beckham earlier in the game.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) i hope kenny keeps that in mind. I'm not ready to watch two years of rookies learning how to play. At your age I wouldn't want to either .
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) Damn, that's impressive for any league. We must either have some really good talent there or guys too old to be playing in that league. Hopefully the former. In Silverio's case he just turned 18 . Didn't have a particularly impressive season at Bristol especially with the glove. But he's very young with tons of upside.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) Really rather not see Getz bunt here. It's amazing what a bunt will do.
  17. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) I posted in the game thread that if they think they are still in it, Thome has to play first in the national league parks if Konerko can not go. That lineup would be embarassing if Thome, Konerko and Quentin are all out in the NL parks. Thomes 1st base days are over. Don't expect him to play and if Konerko gets DL'd should be a lefthanded bat. Allen and Ward are both lefties aren't they? Considering most pitchers are righties ,Allen could start a lot of games with PK out.
  18. Floyd gets Inge with 2 great curves: one the big breaking slow curve then the hard breaking curve that starts off like a fast ball.
  19. After 10 games the DSL Sox are 10-0. Silverio with 4 HR and 16 RBI. Also at this point in his career he's an error machine at SS.
  20. The kid could end up with Dunn type power.
