His UZR on fangraphs so far is 1.8 whereas last year at 2nd it was -8.3 . So even though you hear people clamoring for him to be put back at 2nd base overall (according to UZR) he's much better at SS, though overall that 1.8 means he's rather mediocre.

We have a better chance at resigning Thome or Dye to reduced contracts then we do at paying Adam Dunn $12M. Just not happening. Not a good idea to buy high. KW will continue his bargain basement shopping looking for web gems.

It's a good idea Steve but my guess is we go after someone not quite as sexy like Scutaro or Wilson and another good fielding outfielder to shore up the D a bit who aren't hacks at the plate.
