QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 12:12 PM) Gotcha, thanks. I think it's time to move Alexei into the 2nd spot and hope he can get hot and generate offense. Coming around to my way of thinking. AJ or Alexei both don't walk so Alexei hits for a higher average and is faster and a better bunter.

McD having a rough day.

Home magic happening now. walk thome ?

Theres' AJ bunting into a force out again, now the speed is off the bases.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) bah, weak. They better come back in the second game, i'll be there. With all our home wins and only a 2 run deficit why give up so easily ?

QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) This is what has seperated Javy from being good and not great in his career. Most great pitchers lost plenty of 1-0, 2-1 games.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:42 AM) Prospects are cool, having a lot of them is nice. Ones taht are achieving is even better. But after four decades of following baseball, I have a hard time getting excited for anyone not on the 40 man, and truthfully, the 25 man is where it is at for me. I prefer to not be attached so after they have spent four years working their way up the system and are traded for a three month rent a player, I'm never too upset. Which interests me, more people would be upset with say a Josh Fields leaving then a Paul Konerko. Love that cheap potential. And Go GF. That is great for their community. I could have wrote exactly what you did. After all as a little kid you follow your favorite team and really don't know a damn thing about the minors and that's pretty much the way I've kept it . However just following the Sox closely ,as an adult, you always know the best prospects in AA and AAA.

Just goes to show that pitching is more important than hitting.

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) I'd guess that Jenks and Thorton are the only two definitely not available... I wouldn't count on McDougal either.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:27 AM) Great my 8 yr old nephew was just reading this and has now gone onto the other room to do some internet research. Oh he just meant a Boston Cream Pie.

Who's available in the pen today ? No matter what Danks shouldn't pitch more than 6 innings.

80-61 2.5 games ahead of damn Twinkies after Thome walkoff bomb defeats Angel's 7-6 in 15 innings. 2-0 without Q. Thome's HR puts him ahead of Mantle.

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) I don't think Wise is 100% healthy... as I'm typing, nice catch by Owens. Getting hit in the nuts by your own foul ball then getting HBP in the same AB will make you a little unhealthy.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) Because Brian Anderson accidentally ran over Ozzie's dog. And by accidentally, I mean repeatedly. And in place of dog, I meant son. I thought it was because he is a Commie.

A win tonight would be huge since the damn Twinkies lost.

Still Jenks ?

If Cabrera hits a double here I'm going to be very pissed at Owens.

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 06:09 PM) K-Rod, game over, go get 'em tomorrow. He's blown 5 and just blown another.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 06:00 PM) Exactly, we don't want to see K-Rod in, more so because I can't stand his celebrations. Don't want K Rod to get any saves against the Sox . He can break Thiggy's record against other teams plus it means we probably win if he gets no saves

Lackey gone ? Whoever's in it's time to put the hammer down.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) Dotel, MacDougal, or Gavin still? Dotel against Vlad, Hunter, and Rivera is very scary. So far scary for Vlad and Tori.

Forgot Griffey setting the tone with the 2 1st inning ribbies.

Mark ! Uribe ! Konerko ! OC ! Alexei ! Linebrink back !
