With Perez now having the dreaded forearm tightness and all the TJ surgeries already, I'm guessing with a long season to go that the starting pitching depth is kaput. They just want inning from him that have to be covered.

Not close to competing but better. They are bad and inconsistent but lots of injuries too. So many TJ surgeries among the pitching depth. Amazing to me they found Shane Smith and Mike Vasil. Both pitching way beyond reasonable expectations. Knock on wood that those 2 continue to pitch well. It'll be nice to see Meidroth, Baldwin and Quero playing together. I'm sort of in the Elko camp just because I'd expect him to run into a few more HRs than Vaughn. If you're going to have a weak offense that has a few guys who can take walks you may have well have a few guys with big power hitting behind them even if they K or the hit tool isn't there. Like others have said I don't see them giving up on Vaughn this early. But I would stick him in the minors just to give Elko a shot even though that'll mean another DFA from the 40 to add him. His stats are screaming call me up while Vaughn's are screaming you should have non-tendered me but since you didn't send me down to Charlotte.

I've always called Getz and most front office employees puppets of Puppetmaster Reinsdorf. I have no idea who's been leading you to believe Getz had more power for CHANGE . I think the budget for the roster was drastically cut but CHANGE was allowed for hiring people since civilians cost a lot less than players. There was also the $800K Trajekt Machine. Don't know if they bought just one. Upgrades in R & D but to what extend is hard to know. New DR Academy being built with new Director of International Scouting. Again don't know if that's window dressing or will result in better recruitment of Dominican players . Amaya is the glue that holds everything together defensively ( 🤣). Somehow even Vargas hasn't looked terrible but he's due. It's sad they put out such a powerless inept lineup day after day.

Amaya is going back to the minors once he clears waivers again or maybe just an outright release once Rojas comes back . Vaughn should be batting 8th or not at all.

Working with the same guy he always has Gregg Tekerman who sells the Tek Bat to the public . Tekerman also said that the Scott Boras group got him to work on being more limber in preparation for a full 162 game season. I wouldn't go that far.ive said once he starts hitting the WAR will start piling up because there is also the speed and defense. However the rate he going now with high walk rate, steals and defense , he's right at zero WAR. Those good things are so far preventing him from being a negative WAR player. Technically he's -.1fWAR, but let's just call that 0.
