  14. That's part of the problem. All of a sudden after being Chairman/Owner of the Sox for over 40 years NOW he's worried about his legacy ? He's already had a long time to build his legacy , after all he's the one who created it. Oh you poor ,dear Sox fans, you're going to lose your franchise unless Uncle Jerry saves you. Let me translate that . I'm worried that my heirs will not be able to eventually sell the team for a massive profit unless they get a sweetheart deal which not only includes a new ball park but a whole White Sox based tourist attraction. I've driven away most Sox fans so the only ones left to exploit are tourists. No Sox fan trusts Reinsdorf to actually deliver on any promise he makes that he says will make the Sox more competitive. He's been in the easiest division to win for 4 decades and couldn't figure out how to do it. Oh in my declining years I've been visited by 3 ghosts like Ebenezer Scrooge that said there was still time to change my legacy. God bless us every one ! Thank you Jerry Reinsdorf ! Thank you !
  15. Not a chance the option gets picked up. 3 or 4 WAR wouldn't convince me of anything. He had 4 WAR in 2021 and it was mostly a WAR based on his fielding . He's a very inconsistent hitter and too often injured. You saw what they did with payroll this year. Hard to imagine it would be so much better next year that they would pick up his option under any circumstances. Maybe if he has 3 WAR at the trade deadline they deal him but don't see much chance of that either .
  16. Welcome ! You picked a funny time to show your fandom on a message board just to say you're worse than neutral now for the 1st time in your life about the Sox . But diehards declaring they are no longer diehards but continue to post like diehards is kinda a thing here.
  17. I think the potential is there to lose more. If the starting pitching is a disaster, it's more than likely the relief pitching is also a disaster. Any time in the past that we have said " if everyone stays healthy or " if so and so breaks out " we have a shot, it usually falls upon deaf ears of the gods of baseball. If the starting pitching is somewhat stable and reliable for a bunch of stiffs, the stiffs in the bullpen might stabilize with assigned roles. I don't expect miracles. A good 1st half would mean we have more guys to trade. That's pretty much all I want. I could get greedy and ask for the prospects taking the place of the traded guys in the 2nd half do good also but shhhhh.
  18. But what is it in Spanish ? Why English only ? Haven't they yet figured out they also have many Spanish speaking players yet ?
  19. A reference to the Reinsdorfian villain in It's A Wonderful Life . I like it !
  20. Bulletproof Ball Park Folds of Fat Field
  21. According to your own list Clevinger is top 50 over 32 years old also (33). You also have MLBTR projected salary for Belt, Votto, Stanek, Taylor and Pham all @ the same projected salary as Cody Bellinger's $264/12. Just by perusing the list and ages of those players you don't have to know the actual projected salary's to know those are wrong.
