QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) Part of the issue with wind farms currently (apart from the aesthetics you all have been discussing) is that much of the tax incentives revolving around production costs are up in the air. The numbers don't work for the developers unless those tax incentives are present, at least in this natural gas market. When the wind production tax credit was renewed at the end of 2012, was that only for a single year? If so, that was dumb. EDIT: Sure looks like it expires at the end of this year.

On DirecTV it's on channels 646 and 653. But those are regional sports channels, so if someone doesn't have the package getting all those they won't get it. But a bar would?

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 06:10 PM) am I an idiot for not seeing the problem? is the flag too "Iwo Jima"? Yeah, outside of looking really cheesy, I don't really see a problem. Maybe the juxtaposition of "remembering Pearl Harbor" with a big goofy grin?

QUOTE (onedude @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 09:38 PM) Heard Mob City started. Anybody catch it? Totally forgot when it was airing. It was fine. Not must see TV, but solid. I wish it were 6 one hour episodes instead of 3 two hour ones, though.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 07:00 AM) The last season is good. Second to last, not so much. Disagree. I thought the second to last season should have been the last one. Final season was just terrible and pointless.

I keep my HTC One in an OtterBox, which is sort of depressing because the phone is other so sleek and slim. Maybe I'll pull it out.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) Did you make it to Episode 4? The first 3 episodes are slow and building, then the show takes off from there. I think I made it as far as Lizzy Caplan's ex-husband participating in the study, or maybe one episode further.

Saw a couple of mentions for Masters of Sex. I liked it, but it was a little to bland for me. I've never been so simultaneously impressed with an actor (Sheen) but annoyed with their character. If I didn't have so many other shows going on in the fall I might have kept it up, but something was getting cut.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) I just dont see it yet. I have memories of Oladipo's unreal ability and Zeller outrunning all big men down the court last year, this year it just looks different, almost slower. I've only seen two games and granted Cuse made them look slow because they are so much more athletic in the paint than most teams. Williams is just as athletic as Oladipo, if not more so. Probably a better leaper. Fischer is decently athletic for a big man, but not on Zeller's level. However, the athleticism on last year's team wasn't great outside of those two (and Sheehey). Hulls and Watford weren't athletic at all. This year Perea is getting way more minutes, and Devin Davis and Noah Vonleh are pretty athletic in the front court too.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 08:25 PM) Vonleh looks great. But I still didn't see athleticism. They were more athletic the last two years. Big disagree on this point. IU is way more raw and can't shoot for s*** this year, but they are definitely more athletic this year. During the game last night I kept thinking if we could put last year's talent in this year's bodies we'd be real tough for the Orange.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) I really liked the season, but I was expecting a major character to die but they didn't. You knew the agent wasn't sticking around and Richard was on and off again, and like people said his story had run is course. I expect Chicago to become the major storyline next season with Capone taking over, I wonder if Eli will play a big role or just be a lower level pawn. Which? I totally thought Eli was getting the axe the past few episodes. I'd be perfectly fine with Chicago becoming the main storyline. While Nucky is still technically the main character, the show has become more decentralized every season. The Chicago parts are my favorite scenes every episode. Re: Homeland Setting up for quite the finish. I want to punch Lockhart every time he's on screen, what a tool.

The workout thread seems to have disappeared, so I'll put this here. Any tips for a 4-day workout? I'm still at the beginner stage -- never worked out really before I started in February, and while I've put on muscle, I'm still probably smaller than your average dude. I've tried navigating the bodybuilding.com database, but I don't know enough to know what's good and what's not. I'm not training for anything specific, just want the general "build muscle." I also try to do 15 or so minutes of cardio before I start, but that's on the elliptical usually.

God that IU-UConn game was ugly. Just painful to watch. There was some great defense, but also plenty of dumb mistakes.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 07:34 AM) Troy Williams looked like a lottery pick last night. Hope Indiana continues the recent solid play tonight against a very good UCONN team. Vonleh looked more assertive last night. He had a great first few games, but I thought he looked a little timid. Went up with more authority last night. Keep it up. I've been pleasantly surprised by Devin Davis. Maybe it's because I didn't really know what expectations to have for him, but he's more athletic than I anticipated. Very active. Going to make (and has made) his share of dumb freshman mistakes, but he could be a solid 4-year player.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 08:16 AM) A lot of that article tries to portray Hurd in a sympathetic light as a mere pot smoker (5-10 pounds of weed at a time is not a small amount, even if he was not dealing it to others to make a profit), but considering the conversation he was having, it's entirely possible that they removed a drug lord from the street before he became a drug lord. Yeah, I didn't get that. Trying to just say he just smokes a lot of weed, but then he feels he's low when he's below 5 pounds? WHAT? 5 pounds could last one person 5 years. I get that he was sharing with friends, but still, for him to say he was feeling low on weed whenever he had less than 5 pounds is just absurd. Given what he was saying at Morton's, he was trying to become a kingpin, he just hadn't really done much yet. Life without parole would have been silly.

What an awful performance by IU tonight. There's gonna be some frustrating games with such a young team. It was awesome to see Troy Williams get hot for a brief stretch in the second half there, he could be a real good one. Between MSU-Kentucky, VCU-Virginia and Kansas-Duke there have been some fantastic games tonight.
